    :D

Losing to ATL and PHI on the road does wonders .... for other teams in the west.

That is just crazy. How the heck New Jersey's GM could even ask for that much for Kidd with a straight face.

This is bad news for the Rocks.

Kidd has a lot left in the tank. I go to about 20 Nets games a year and about 6 this year so far (tickets nice and cheap!).

Kidd will help Dallas a TON! He doesn't need to score. Have you seen his assists per game?

Bad news for the Rocks and their great PG Rifa Alston...who by the way is from NYC! :)

Go to Detriot, where he made his name. Dont even go back there, being the 6th, 7th best player on that team.

This trade makes the mavs weaker,We have been hurt by jerry stakchouse and devin harris, they for some reason have some type of magic powers that work against the rockets. Kidd doesn't shoot the ball enough to beat us in a 7 game series. You have to factor chemistry into the matter as well

Kidd is all toughness and leadership. They'll probably have a good run this year, however at the expense of selling away their future though, kinda what Phoenix did. It may be good news for the Rockets, considering we have a larger window to win in the playoffs. But this year should be tough.

But then the Nets buy out Stackhouse's contract and he can go back to the Mavs after 30 days.

What most of us forget is that the Nets do have the option of just buying Stackhouse out and that gives Dallas a chance to get him back. Of course, this would be doing a service to the Mavericks on the Nets behalf.

As for how this effects Dallas, I think it's positive for them...for the short term. Kidd's alpha-dog mentality is what the Mavericks need. They have the players (Dirk/Josh/JET) but they lack that killer instinct player to get them to the top. What better way to get your team to the promise land than by getting a point guard like Kidd to run your team?

Long term, this might hit Dallas hard since Kidd isn't getting younger and his salary and future contract demands might handcuff this team for a while. This is a move that Dallas had to make though.

this is great news. all the teams have to do to stop the Mavs is to make Kidd shoot the ball.

Harris and Stackhouse tortured the Rockets. See ya!

We always beat up Kidd's nets pretty bad. We had no answer for Harris, and Stackhouse's fearlessness also bothered us a lot.

exactly kidd will pose other problems of course but i think the problems that harris and stackhouse combined posed were far greater than kidd alone.

of course it can be an issue if stackhouse resigns with the mavs...i really hope he doesnt and doesnt wait the 30 days. i can see him going back to detroit.

Mavs will still choke in the playoffs. They will still struggle against the Warriors and against the Suns. They have traded away thier depth and as long as they dont get Jerry "Rocket Killer" stackhouse back, I honestly dont seem them as a serious for the Rockets.
