He really did tonight! 2 good moves on Hakeem and then the DUNK over Davis. Nasty! He really rejunvenated the team in the 4th Q. Sorry if there already exists a thread on the same topic. I just feel the urge to praise KT's effort tonight.
Yep, KT had another great game. I'm telling you, if he could just shoot the ball better, he will be BRUTAL! He's beginning to connect more on those all-famous spin moves. I think he also needs to learn how to kick it out more to the perimeter. He pretty much shoots it everytime he gets it. Great game KT, nonetheless. P.S. If I had to pick between him and Eddie, I'd pick Eddie.
He is shooting 48% which is GREAT in today's NBA. Trade him now while we can get someone like Mihm or Rashard Lewis. KT is the odd man out when Mo T gets back. DD
That sit down he put on Antonio Davis was great. Really picked up the team. Also liked that slam with the forearm protecting the ball, and the block they called foul at the end. Great job, KT! The guy's playing his ass off.
Does anyone beside me think that Kenny Thomas should be re - signed???? I want to keep him - he is our only really strong consistent low post player who scores. I do not think he should ever shoot the 3. I would like to keep him. Get rid of Walt. Buy out the failure of Glen Rice' contract. Do we have enough money to offer Kenny Thomas similar money as Cuttino Mobley??? Or Moochie??? If we get rid of someone else make it Moochie or Cuttino. WE WILL NEVER GET RASHARD LEWIS --He despises the Rockets for not picking him in the draft. Wally Walker will never part with him to the Rockets..... Keep Kenny-Rashard is a lost cause!!!!!!!
Many people like to talk about Langhi's potential. but not Kenny's. Kenny is already a potential all star if he can get his outside shot going. Danny Ainge I believe said on TNT he would be almost impossible to stop with an outside shot. His stroke doesn't look that bad and we know he is a hard worker who has gotten better every year. KT may very well further develop his outside shot and then with KT's fire and work ethic(Heresy) be better than Rashard Lewis who seems to be lacking on defense and seems to be soft. People talk about wanting tough guys and then want to trade our only tough guy for a softie. Kenny got the best of tough guy Antonio Davis who I believe has been an all star and who is still in his prime. Oh I know KT can't guard Garnett and Duncan -- yeah like Rashard can. KT also has the body build to be a durable player in the NBA, which is also something to think about. Kenny with little else for Rashard would be worth a gamble, but don't undervalue Kenny or try to throw in Mo Talylor, Oscar Taylor and the ktichen sink for Lewis who may be just another soft shooter type.
Yeah, Rashard was upset with the Rockets, but I'm not sure how serious his desire to come home and be with his family and friends is. It seems to me he's pretty straightforward in saying he would love to be in Houston so he could be closer to them. It could just be a ploy to get more money from the Sonics, but I don't think so. But regardless, I would like to keep Kenny too. I think he's versatile enough to play the 3 or the 4. He can blow past any big guy (like he did against Davis! Ouch!) and he can overpower most small forwards. Either way, we would definitely want him to play inside and not outside. I've seen some other mentions of this lineup next season, but if the Rockets could stay healthy I think they could be pretty dangerous. Franics, Mobley, Kenny, Taylor, Griffin. That is FIVE serious offensive threats. However, the defense kind of scares me.
KT has an outside shot; it is just that he hesitate too much. Great game and showing how the PF is played. He is definitely holding his own in this league. He is definitely a starting PF in this league. The high use of the backboard last night was exceptional and I believe that is the answer to reducing the chance of people getting to his shot.
I have a tendancy to want to jump into the posts that are critical of the way the Rocks are going this year. All of them. I get so bummed, game after game. But watching the game last night, even when the Rockets were trailing by a good margin, I was enjoying the game because of the way KT was playing. He played a super game. Can he play at that level on a consistent basis? I don't know. I would like to think so. If he did, he would deserve to start. If he played like that all the time, he would deserve to start even if Mo were healthy and EG had another year of experience. Keep it up KT.
The consistency of a player is partly related to the consistency of his environment. The team has had so many lineups that it has been hard. With Walt out now, probably we can have Tmo or Eddie start and get some consistency going. One thing is clear, Langhi, I hope, is in for some good minutes. We should start EG and bring Willis back into the rotation.
My name has been mentioned far too many times in this thread for me to not reply. Yeah, everyone just hop on the Keep Kenny bandwagon i guess.
