Kickass. I feel sorry for the troops. They swear an oath of service, with the intent of protecting america. But then get sent off as mercenaries in a political shell game, in all honesty probably endangering america further. And they get to watch blackhawk employees make 10x as much with even less oversight than the pentagon. And they get their benefits cut at home by the same armchair warmongers. And then they get told to go back under stop-loss. And then they hear presidential hopefuls talk about being in Iraq for a "100 years". I truly feel sorry for them. Cowardly? Not the troops. Not protestors either. It takes balls to stand up for what you believe is the truth. Cowardly is pontificating about the virtues and necessity of a war, while you remain steadfastly removed from it.
There you go again with the homosexual references. I'll be the bigger man and ignore your homosexual references. I'm above that.
The citizens of Berkeley have every right to protest or ban military recruiting in the areas over which they have jurisdiction (key point). However, the citizens of the United States have every right to withhold federal funds from being spent in that jurisdiction. Cut the baby in half, and let both sides have their way.
agreed! i thought the forces that we are now using in iraq should have been used in afghanistan... i mean if u ask me ide rather fight over there because the people who are truly responsible for the terrorist attacks were over there.. instead of using american troops, we used the northern alliance (which by the way looksjust like the taliban.. turbans and everything ) and the results? bin laden got away.. but now that we are in iraq, we have got to win that war at all cost... true, al qaida wasnt there before, but they are now... which is a good thing! that means they arent hear in the u.s. fighting american civilians without weapons.. instead they all went to iraq to fight hardcore americans with m60 machine guns, m4s, and m16s.. we just gotta support them... if u ask me do we need to get out of there? yes we do... but we have to do it wisely.. otherwise, if we leave really fast with iraq not having a strong government, we just stirred up a hornets nest... can u imagine iraq being controlled by iran...? scary stuff... *sighs* makes u think that none of these wars would have happen if every single person in this world would realize we live in a small planet, and instead of destroying each other, we should be making advances to make everybodys lives better... not just americans, but everyone... i remember a us marine that was burning inside a humvee, and an insurgent burning beside him just outside of the humvee, later on when the gun fight stopped, we looked at the burned bodies and a friend of mine said.. "wow, american or insurgent, when barbecued together we just simply look the same, the difference is really in the uniforms we wear, thats it.." sick humor, but true if u think about it.. *sighs* we just do not respect each other... its just our nature....
It wasn't a homosexual reference, he was calling you a coward. I don't believe that the choice not to enlist makes someone a coward, nor that being in favor of the war while not fighting in it does so, but it has nothing whatsoever to do with being gay.
ey bro, u do realize every sngle nation that fought against the united states ever since forever has american troops on their soil..? obama and clinton may say "we will get all of our troops home." but seriously, thats not gonna happen.. some may go home indeed! but not all.... we will have an american presence in those countries for a long time.... 100 years? could be.. 1900's, U.S. fought the Spanish in the Philippines... it's 2008 now, there is about 3,000 american troops there right now..
There's a fine line between calling somebody homosexual and claiming they have no balls. Women have no balls, gays can be considering very feminine....you get the drift. You've been reduced to quibbling about technicalities. Congrats. Homophobe. Once again I'll be the bigger man here
Read my other posts please because i do question the iraq war too, im not against it by any means, but i just question it... i question how it was fought and how it is being run right now, i thought the country we should have focused on was afghanistan... and by the way, u made it sound like i was against the anti war protesters.. i am not, i support everyone and i highly encourage people to protest... just protest wisely... think before u open ure mouth, like how those protesters were planning on trying to close that recruting office... well anywaise got to go get some sleep... get ready for the rox game tonight
I beg your pardon? This sounds suspiciously like exactly what myself, andy, rimmy, and mark have been saying for some time. So now go away texxx. I believe your boss at the Diamond Shamrock needs you to clean some poo off the urinals again.
Why do you constantly want to ignore or diminish the deaths of your fellow Americans? W drove us off a cliff and you're upset with me because I point out the bad driving and the wrecked car at the bottom of the ravine? Both are relevant even though W should have never been allowed behind the wheel.
That's cool. I didn't think you were against protesters, but used the opportunity you gave me to explore their motivations. One quibble though, and that's over your word "wisely." Who gets to define wisely? Was it wise to protest at the Pentagon during Vietnam? Wise for people to cross the Selma Bridge? Wise for unions to strike? Wise to burn a flag? Wise to protest Apartheid? Wise to boycott Disney? Wise to shut down abortion clinics? There are many more. Some of these I do think were wise, others I think were stupid. But every one had people saying it wasn't wise and others saying it was. If you have no problem with protests, you have to support stupid protests as well... and have faith that the majority of Americans will see it for what it is.
got to disagree with u on that one bro, hope no offense is taken by you... im not a bush supporter by any means, but it was really Bin Laden who started all of this... if u remember, Bush's top priority just before the 9/11 attacks was Tax Cuts and the Economy. War was the last thing on America's agenda.. then boom... september 11 happens... our initiative changed... the shield was now becoming the sword... it seems to me that u are one of those anti-war guys... for me i am pro-war... to me we have to strike first before someone strikes us... u are free to disagree with me by all means, and i welcome it if you do! u know as a marine, our number one rule in the battlefield was "Dont fire unless fired upon," we stayed true to that, one of us have to get shot and die first before we can open fire... do i support that? no i dont.. same thing with pre-emptive warfare.. i support it cuz i cant allow any un-suspecting civilians to die first before we make our move... but over all though... just over all.. do i support wars? heckkk naww... if anyone hates war the most, it is us, the marines, the soldiers, the sailors, the airmen, why? because we are actually the ones who fight and die, and eat worms, dont brush our teeth for months, not showering for months, having your girlfriend leave you cuz she thought u "died" ( yes that happened to me )... u may ask me "so if you hate it, why did you enlist?" my answer to that is simple... and here it is, because someone has to do it.. freedom aint free, someone has to sacrifice so that others may love... better me than you... ure a liberal apparently.. and people think liberals do a better job on the economy.. who knows? that could be true... me? i dont know much about the economy, all i know is this, if we are in a recession, we still have a better lifestyle than 80% if the people in this world... sometimes i think us americans are used to a life of luxury... but yeah, better me to sacrifice my life than u... you and i could be a team! i could go and grab a rifle and man the post, while u stay here in the united states, work in ure office and make this country strong from the inside, while i make it strong from the outside!
