Have to agree with Bill Walton here, but maybe that's because I never respected Shaq. Although Walton is disregarding the fact that Shaq will just be used as a defensive presence in Phoenix, and a possible 4th option.

Bill Walton is a big ol Kobe lover and Laker homer. He's just mad that Shaq left LA. His son plays for the Lakers as well.

Walton might be right, though as usual he's over the top. Shaq's response is just hilarious.

Shaq just broke logic 101, attacking the source of argument doesnt mean the argument is invalid. I love Shaq, but that was a weak azz counter.

    HAHAHAHAHA !!!! WALTON GOT OWNED!!!! :D :D :D :D

You got to love Shaq for that! He just flat out told Walton to STFU!

One thing about Shaq is he gives the great centers before him a lot of props whether it is Russell, Wilt, Kareem, or Hakeem! So if he follows the "big man pecking order" then Walton has to do so also!

He used to give Hakeem props. Since winning all those championships, I think he feels like he has surpassed him.

How is Walton not "qualified" enough to criticize Shaq's semi-retirement?

Walton won what....two NCAA championships, two NBA championships, an MVP award and an NBA Finals MVP award?

This isn't exactly Tim Legler talking heat on Michael Jordan here.

I remember someone in the GRAM posting an article from ESPN like two years ago where Shaq gave Hakeem mad props. He called him unstoppable or something on offense and said something about Hakeem schooling him in the Finals!

    Honky Shooter #1?

Sounds like a bad guy from a Dolemite movie.

Shaq wasn't brought in to carry this team -- just play a role. The same way Walton did at the end of his career with the Celtics.

    Walton was being outrageous
    Shaq was being funny

That's what they both do -- and I like listening to both of them. The same way I like listening to Barkley. I don't agree with everything they say (or even much of it) but they are entertaining.

Maybe Walton being 6 years old when his Dad won an NBA title with the Boston Celtics has something to do with it? Stupid.

Both of them are behaving like idiots.Walton is saying Shaq can't do anything at all.He isn't just saying that Shaq won't win a championship.Calling him out as an arrogant person is unprofessional. I'm not saying Shaq isn't arrogant, but once he starts feeling well enough to play,he could help out a strong ball club like the Suns. That is something he couldn't do on a weaker team like Miami.
I can understand Shaq's anger but his reference to Ostertag is down right ugly.
