Dude, I'm all for a "Go, Team, Go" attitude...But there's a broad line between "Go Team, Go" and straight-up being a homer. I believe that this team is capable of winning another championship for the franchise. I stop short, however, of predicting that they will. That doesn't make me any less of a fan than you are.
Too early to call just because they been on a role... Need to get pass the 1st round first!!!!! Need to beat a team like the Jazz, Mavericks and Spurs in a 7 game series.
I don't wanna rain on the parade but we're as of right now out of the playoff and in the 9th spot! A slight dosage of reality is needed here.
Didn't your mama ever tell you it is bad to do drugs? If you do drugs, you tend to do bad things.... ... like prematurely dream of championships.
We're not even above 8th seed yet and we don't have the depth of players other teams have. Look at a possible starting 5 for LA: Kobe Gasol Bynum Odom Fisher How are we going to possibly beat LA? And don't even try to match up TMac and Kobe ... they are in different leagues all together.
we are not going to win a championship this year. but we may make it to the second round - and we may get better in the off-season which then could make us a contender next year. i think this team is at least a year away. as nice as our offense is beginning to look, when we hit the playoffs, the pressure will likely cause some regression and it will be tough to make it all the way through. experience just isn't there. none of our starters have ever won a playoff series - i think title hopes is a bit much.
lakers would match up with utah between fifth and fourth, and lakers would finish the job that rockets cant finish last year with bynum gasol odom kobe and fisher. What the rockets need to worry right now is get that 7th spot and not face pheonix where yao need to match up with shaq and scolas or hayes with amare.
it's possible for the rockets to finish the season with 49 wins (.598 season) without winning any of the 13 games remaining against teams who currently hold better records or are ranked higher in the western conference. there are 18 games remaining against teams who have poorer records than the rockets. easy schedule is making this roster look like fool's gold. at the very least they need to add a cassell calibre pg as a backup.
I would love to see what you said come true. But let's get in the playoff first in the crazy WC. The realistic goal is to pass the first round.
I have seen the Lakers before the Gasol trade and after the Gasol trade, and believe me, it is very premature for anyone to hand them the title. The current win streak they are on has been against opponents weaker than thosel the Lakers have faced. Let me tell you this though, the Lakers this year should try to avoid the Jazz at all costs because that is going to be one hell of a series for them. Their team is kind of built similar to how we were built but with a little more talent. Bynum is going to have a tough time on defense because you are going to either have him face Okur or try and contain Boozer. Those are tough challenges because Bynum is a similar low post player like Yao. He is going to struggle against the PnRs that the Jazz run 24-7. Now some of you are probably thinking, if the Lakers are more talented than the Rockets and the Rockets almost beat the Jazz, then your theory is just stupid. But you also have to recognize that the addition of Korver is an amazing pick up and that AK47 is having a better year than last year. Last year, he had a problem with the emergence of Boozer and Williams and struggle to find his role on the team. This year, he is much more comfortable. But all in all, it is going to be full of great match-ups in the West and boring as hell matchups in the East!
I still think the Rockets are soft and it's going to take one of the top teams in the league to point it out.
