I know it's completely premature and naive to have a thread like this, but I would like to point some things out. Well the West is strong this year, there have been some cracks. 1. San Antonio is have a race with age this year as Tony P and Brent Barry are showing signs of wear and tear. 2. While Boston is arguably the best team in the NBA this year, they are having questions about the point guard position and a possible lack of depth for a long playoff race, esp with Detroit. The frontcourt looks a little light without the center and KG. 3. The Phoenix trade with Shaq is a huge gamble, and the worst case situation doesn't look good for the Amare - Shaq frontcourt, again due to possible health issues. 4. Dallas and Utah both got owned by New Jersey and Portland, and I never thought they were any good in the first place. And finally the teams I would NOT want to play against are the Lakers and the Warriors, and it looks like in a playoff situation, both of those teams will get knocked out by the top seeds. What do you guys think.
i love people who say stuff like i know its no where near that time but still say it anyways im not worried about any of this right now, we are barely trying to get INTO the playoffs let alone win a series
No matter how convincing the argument, we shouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves. Lets keep taking it one game at a time.
ok fans, let's settle down. after 1 quarter, we have a bunch who claim we suck. after 7 games, we have a few who claim we should win the championship. let the team plays out the whole season first, see who we face in the first round and how the playoffs will play out.
I hate to break this to you, but the Rockets are currently in 9th place in the West and, at the moment, out of the playoffs. One at a time. You get there, one at a time. Now the Kings are the biggest game of the year.
If we lose the next game to the Kings, everyone will be on their hands and knees screaming for a trade. That's not to mock fans -- it's just how it is. "How could we lose to the KINGS ... at HOME?" While I'm not thinking NBA title, I do admit that the combination of the return to Rockets defense and the addition of Scola in the starting lineup has me just now thinking they could surprise and make some noise, but I do hope they can make a deal. It's just a damn shame that the Rockets have an easy schedule in the same month as the trading deadline.
Well, we have been playing well lately, but we have mainly beaten substandard teams. Next month will be very tough and that will be a true indicator of how we will do.
I think the Rox have to look forward to get into the 2nd round or Conference Semi finals, get there and start dreaming, you have to consider that we have 3 players on our Top 8th man rotation that are rookies and two of them have no playoffs experience (i will put Scola as a experienced player), so this would be a fair expectation. Next year adelman should make Scola the 3rd scorer and run more plays for the rookies as they will be completely gelled up into the NBA, that will make us a great team, and if somehow we can turn some of these players (Mike James, Luther Head, Steve Francis) into contributors we will have a contender. But you have to take it step by step.
