I haven't atched the game yet and maybe before someone post the reason i can answer this myself, but looking at stats alone, why did Eddie only get 23 mins? It looks like Kenny had a good game, but thats besides the point. With Jerome "no jumper" Williams starting and playing most of the game, wouldn't this be a good time to play Eddie and Kenny together? I don't care how, but 23 mins isn't going to get it for him. What happened anyone?

Jerome Williams is one of the best 3/4 defenders in the game. Playing Griffin on him would be bad because he would probably Eddie to boards and clamp him down.

Also because Eddie stunk in the first half 0-4 with one rebound. He was a little lost, of course he picked it up in the 2nd half.

Eddie rallied with three consecutive threes in the fourth. Before that he didn't look that good for the first time in a while. I think Hakeem, Jerome Williams and Antonio Davis were a little too physical for him and he was probably still coming down from his Philly game.

If you notice Eddie had only 4 boards and no blocks.

I know you bash Rudy at every chance but Rudy is doing a good job of steadily building Eddie's confidence and minutes. Eddie played all the valuable crunch time minutes which is the experience which counts most.

For a bit Rudy had a crazy lineup of four rookies, Oscar, Tierre, Griffin and Morris. Didn't do too well, but you can't claim he's not giving them experience.

    i disagree completely.

if you looked at the game, i don't know how you could say he stunk in the first half. first of all, out of the whopping 4 shots he took, only 2 of them were given to him "in the flow". one was a missed 3 (his 1st shot). the other was a missed turnaround. THAT'S IT!

THEN, rudy sits him out for all but the last 1:03 of the 3rd quarter and has t-morris in. EDDIE'S NOT A FRICKEN BABY! LET HIM PLAY! everyone's so concerned about his confidence yadda yadda. he's a star in the making. and he can shoot lights out. since when is missing 4 shots reason to pull a player for a full quarter???

it never applied to cat, steve, mooch, kt, walt, or anyone else. so why pull griff for that extended period of time? as soon as he got in at the 1:03 mark of the 3rd period, he had an instant impact - grabbing a tough board and sinking 2 free throws. 4th quarter he showed that he had big balls. balls big enough to sink 3 shots from at least 26' out to pull the rockets back in it.

i can only imagine what would have happened if he would have played in the 3rd quarter, too. no, i don't have to imagine...i can tell you we would have won.

since when as Rudy decided to bench a player..especially a low first round pick, because he is was not playing well in a stretch...typically, we are complaining because he continues to go with, say walt or cato, when they are sucking because that is the rotation damn it...

kinda strange...EG is not a guy you bench because he is not playing well..this kid gets hot at any point during a game. you need to maximize his minutes for him to be effective. he has shown no tendency towards being hot in one quarter versus another IMHO. Who knows..if he played in the 3rd more, he could have lit them up earlier than the 4th...EG needs to be in there at least 30 minutes...maybe 35., regardless of the matchup.

Hey, you guys could be right. I know I prefer to watch Eddie 48 minutes per night. I stop reading or only half way watching when Eddie enters.

He's my favorite player to watch.

Welcome to Rudy's baffling substitution world. No one can explain how or why Rudy does what he does, but for some reason he manages to blow my mind game after game.

Its almost as if Rudy has his favorites, kind of like a High School teacher. It's frustrating to watch the substitutions, and even more frustrating to watch the "plays" he draws up for the Rockets to run.

    = Rudy

    OR....

He wants to show off certain players (for example, KT and Mooch and maybe Cato) so that we can trade them.

    Sounds conspiracy-ish, I know.

I finally watched the game and I'm pretty muc at lost for words. Eddie played what 8 mins in te first half? That makes no sense at all. I know Kenny was playing pretty good and he deserved to play, but somehow, someway this guy needs to be on the floor. I know this isn't the week to hate on Rudy :) , but he's doing his worse coaching job of his career.
