At the end of every season, I check for two things: First, did the Rockets play well considering the circumstances of their season; and second, did the Jazz not win the Title? Since I am almost always happy with these two answers at the end of every season, I ask you now about the upcoming season. I am sure the Jazz won't win the Title, of course. But how bad will they really be? I've been predicting the downfall of this team for years now, but sadly, they keep surprising me by having decent seasons, especially considering the collective age and talent contained on that team. Is this season my season to finally be joyous? Will the Jazz finally become a .500 team, or perhaps even worse? What are your thoughts? ------------------ Jazzkiller
If the Floppers lose Howard Eisley, not only would they lose a valuable bench player, but perhaps their PG of the future as well. A couple of years ago, they had a good, young core of Anderson, Russell and Eisley, and now they might only be left with Russell, who I'm sure is thinking of ways to get out of town before the ambigiously ______ (insert preferred adjective here) duo retire. Of course, Deshawn Stevenson looks promising and may one day become a star, but he's only 18. As for next season, I think (hope) the Jazz will continue their gradual downward spiral from NBA finalists to bottom-feeders. Unlike the Bulls and Rockets, who went from contenders to dwellers in one season, the jazz are fading much less suddenly. I guess its fun, in a way, to watch them suffer slowly and painfully. Btw, what happened to those rumours of Reggie Miller joining Stockton and Malone for one last shot at the title? Any chance of that? slcrocket: To answer your first question, not bad enough. I think they'll still have a decent record finishing second in the Midwest, but they probably won't get out of the first round. "Is this season my season to finally be joyous?" Having a team that you really hate suck is way overrated. You'll find that disappointment in about a year... Azim- haven't heard anything else since you have, but man would he help them(hopefully he'll realize that there are better opportunities out there for him than carrying a roster of geezers through the playoffs ). ------------------ WE WILL WATCH THEM FALL... I'm content with the Jazz making the playoffs but not winning the championship. It's hard to get good picks that way. ------------------
