Trailer: http://www.superhero-movie.net/ You know, even though it's not much of a compliment, this looks a lot better than Date Movie, Meet the Spartans and Epic Movie(have not actually seen any of these). Obviously, it's not anywhere close to Airplane!, but the director of that movie is a producer on this. Looks like it mainly makes fun of Spiderman, but there are bits that parody X-Men, Fantastic 4, and Batman Begins.
I've actually seen Date Movie and Epic Movie, but can't remember a bit about either of them. I guess they were that bad. I'm not even gonna waste my time with Meet the Spartans, might just wait till it goes out on DVD. I'll wait and see how Superhero fares with the critics. The trailers always makes them look so worthwhile, very M Night Shmalyialanailnaman.
Parody movies are what they are. You shouldn't take it so seriously or even expect too much. They are good for killing a hour and a half with stupid laughs. I love parody movies. I've seen them all, from Airplane to Meet the Spartans. There's actually a Chinese cinema movie called "Big Movie" which is also a parody movie that does American flicks and Asian Films like Internal Affairs. Just smoke a blunt, sit back and enjoy the stupid laughs. Not every film has to be serious or Oscar-worthy. I notice that Leslie Nelson, the King of Spoofs, is in this one. Movie itself doesn't look too bad either.
Looks OK. By the way...has anyone seen Meet the Spartans? People who have seen it say its very very gay..
This looks a little better that most spoof movies nowadays because it isn't full of a bunch of random pop-culture references and seems to have one congruent story. I might check it out.
Date Movie was awful. The last two parody movies I liked were scary movie 2 and Not another teen movie.
I have to agree with them. I watched it the other day and I hated it...I wish I could have that wasted hour of my life back...
The co-writer and director of this movie once used his immense power and made a telephone call on my behalf. So, in return, I am encouraging everyone to go see Superhero Movie (aka Superhero!)
