4-5 months at the most to recover. He'll get 8 months to recover. He should be good to go strong next season.

4-5 months to recover. another 4 to get back in top shape.

SF3 still has something to prove. He will at least give it one more shot. I believe he will be 100% ready for next season. God Bless and take care Steve, c-ya next season.

I hope he does, and contributes. That would be a "feel good" story for sure.

If he works his butt off, Stevie will be back and be effective.

People are far too quick in writing off older players.

I agree. Considering our collection of point guards, if he's healthy, he deserves another shot. Besides, he's cheap.

    Steve,

I wish you luck... But you are running an up hill battle with an Expedition on your back...

Age, Chronic knee injuries and time are not on your side...

    Best of luck to ya...

I hope SF3 can help the Rockets win a championship some way in the
future, even if just playing 5 mins a game. I will hate to see him end
his career in such a sad note.

I am glad they found the problem because a Steve Francis without athleticism is not a good thing to see.

Let's hope for a complete recovery.

Good to see that Steve still wants to come back here. He's only good to us if he is healthy, just like T-Mac, so lets hope for a full recovery. Him and Yao are the two guys that I think genuinely love Houston and would stay a Rocket no matter what. He will definitely be back. We all know Mr. "3:33 Press Conference" isn't going to go out like that! He was our Bob Sura, before Bob Sura.

He may not be 25 anymore, but he's not 36 either. It's not his age that is slowing him down so much, it's the injury.

Time is not on his side? Recovery time is supposed to be 4 months tops. He'll have 8 months to recover and get back into shape.

He should be healthy and in shape for the start of next season. We all know that he wants to come back, and more so to win than to get paid. Any reason not to think he will spend the extra time during the summer to get into top shape?

He will be what 33, the dude will have a good 3 years of solid production in him atleast.

i've always loved stevie's heart and competitive fire. it's something i respect. the body language of being totally broken after a loss in which you sacrificed ur all to win. that's heart. that's what i saw in stevie.

having said that, sure I'd want him to return. As many of you have said, he's not hopeless though his bad luck seems to make it appear that say right when he recovers, he gets another injury and repeats the cycle ... but Im just hoping and praying that doesn't happen. But even if he does come back ... what worries me a lot is ... how much motivation will be there for Tmac? I've already seen it this year. He's losing motivation and hope for winning that title. I saw that look of lost hope after game 7 last year, and some of that ive seen on the court this year. he's been the dominating tmac sometimes and propz to him for that, but if the Rockets say, dotn get outta the first round AGAIN, what will become of our team? namely, what will Tmac be like the coming year Francis comes back and hopefully is healthy enough to make a huge difference?
