Up until last year, I didn't have a use for a DVD collection. I would either rent a movie either at Blockbuster or PPV, or download them, something I decided to stop doing. So now I need to buy some DVDs. Honestly, I don't need blu-ray at the moment- DVDs look just fine to me and seem to be cheaper. I was checking out deepdicscount.com and their prices -seem- good, but I don't have a lot of experience to draw on there. Outside of the usual box sets and kids movies, I also like to watch Anime a couple of times a year, and remember seeing an anime-only DVD site out there somewhere. So where can I get them on the cheap?
if you just want to start at one, check out Big Lots, seriously, Columbia House liquidates their DVDs there, I bought freaking Memento Criterion Edition for $3, I also bought Urban Legend, League of their Own, Final Fantasy Spirits Within 2 Disc Set, xXx Unrated 2 disc set (the Vin Diesel movie perverts), An Evening with Kevin Smith 2, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. thats a perfect place to start out your collection, can't go wrong with $3 a piece Ebay is also good for good bargains, Best Buy/Circuit City is starting to have a $5 or less sale almost every week now, and Walmart's $5 bin is a good start also.
I usually would use my dvd player which up converts regular dvd's into 1080p..... I'm a movie freak so i tend to by my stuff from foreign sites like yesasia,hkflix,amazon.uk,xploitationdvds....
Thanks for the tips. I'll certainly make Big Lots and Hollywood/Blockbuster a regular stop after reading this. I'll also keep an eye on Amazon. Good to know that deepdiscount.com was slow on the shipping.
