I decided to look back at the box scores back in the day and though I remembered the 15 and 0, I didn't remember that they went 7 and 0 after that to 22-1.

Hakeem played like a beast in nearly everyone of them games. Can you imagine if he had been truly motivated to keep winning what this team could have done?

What also shocks me is that this team wasn't really EXPECTED to compete for a championship that year but they came together so well.

Yeah, I remember the 15-0 record. IIRC, that tied the league record for most consecutive win to start a season. I also believe that 15th win came against the Knicks at MSG.

I know, that's unbelievable. If I remember correctly, we kinda got bored and lost focus. When we were motivated to win, we played suffocating defense, but some games we just didn't care and went through the motions.

I believe it....Those Rockets were GOOD.

I remember late in the year, the whole squad just looked like they wanted the postseason to come...yes, i noticed this as a 8 year old.

The 97 Rockets started off 21-2 and probably would have gone for 65+ if not for all the injuries.

I had that pang of nostalgia last night when they showed Chris Jent. Me and my brother used to call him Jentleman Jack. Man, those were the days.

Oh, and even though I was only 10 when the Rockets were doing their thing back then, I still remember thinking that the team packed it in after the New Year. I remember being pretty upset because no matter how good we were, we could never finish with a better regular season record than the freaking Sonics. If any of you ever meet Dikembe, be sure to tell him thanks for knocking out the Sonics in the first round that year!

I wish i was there to see every game of it but it's really an amazing performance that is really overlooked in NBA history. Everybody acts like 93-94 + 94-95 were up for grabs season just because Jordan left the game. Talk about ignorance and vanity, because MJ was not that good. ****, The Rockets went 5-1 in the three championship years of the Bulls so not even MJ could've stopped it. Really, people act like if MJ was there the Rockets wouldn't have been champs etc etc. Really ridiculous and i'm not exaggerating when i'm saying the 93-94 Rockets are definetly among the best teams ever. Going 15-0 and 21-1 and something only done once besides the 93-94 Rockets so that tells you something. Not to mention that season was one of the hardest seasons for teams in the West. All 8 teams in the west could've been in the NBA Finals. I bet if the Nuggets would'be beaten the Jazz the Rockets could've lost the WCF. The Nuggets won the season series 3-2 so it was really a tough season. That game against the Spurs where they went 22-1 was again an amazing performance by our man Maxwell getting 35 pts with 5/12 threes, tied the game and hit a buzzer beater !! Wow man, i wish i had that game in full. I have a rebroadcast of the game on DVD around 40 mins long shown by HSE a year later.
If some1 has that 22-1 game please let us know. Everybody needs to see it !!

man those were the days...that season brings back alot of memories...that year Olajuwon literally played like a beast he had a lot of 24pts+ 14rebs+ 4blks+ games in that 22-1 run. Along with Hakeem's consistent play we had Vernon putting up t mac-like numbers. Then you could pick your poison with Thorpe, Kenny, or Horry on any given night.

Yeah, that team was stacked. Don't forget Cassell either. He was our energy guy off the bench, always taking charges, and harassing his man. I'll never forget that 3 he hit against the Knicks (f***ing OJ....of course he had to pick our championship to run from the cops....a**hole). The shot heard round the world.

That team could've won 60 if Rudy T didn't decide to rest his starters. Their last 2 games were in Dallas against the 13-69 Mavs and at home against Denver who went 42-40(which I was at incidentally). The Rockets lost both games.

BTW, that Denver game was great. Chris Jackson....errrrr, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf was on the verge of breaking Calvin Murphy's record for best free throw percentage in a season before missing a free throw in that game. The crowd went absolutely nutz in an otherwise meaningless game. :D

First of all, it was on the 2nd night of a back-to-back after the Knicks game. And secondly, that Hawks team won 57 games that season. Only one less than the Rockets.

Wasn't the same year that the #1 seed Seattle knocked out in the first round by the #8 Denver? Seattle was giving us fits all year. No Internet back then, I read the game report on Chronicle over 3 times. Just couldn't get enough of that :D
