Ech, I did NOT like what this article reflected. Our players have just shown that there is no excuse to play so atrociously at home, and after years they still can't get it together. It's absurd that our homecourt has become our homecourt disadvantage.

Do you honestly think we have what it takes to win a playoff series right now? Most of our games are still going down to the final minute against mediocre teams. We lost to the 76'ers TWICE. I don't doubt we can win a game any time against a WC contender, but in a series I just don't see it right now.

So either the team has got to continue to gel and play more consistently, which relies heavily on the rookies continuing to get better. Or we need to bring a solid veteran player in who can bring more consistency by nature. I hope the first option pans out, but I don't know how anyone can be so confident it will.

Calm down... 90% of the league's GMs and coaches are saying the same thing after the two recent big trade.

They don't want players to all be paranoid about being traded-- and perform poorly because of the paranoia, even if they are considering a possible deal.

Read the rumors section on hoopshype.com... there are a ton of "we are not trading our guys" quotes from all the teams.

Thats right Rafer, look DEEP inside yourself and find the problems with this team at home, and in general.........
oh wait, I guess he only needs to take look in the mirror :)

i really will be happy if Rafer gets traded. also lady mcgrady, james ,snyder. ship their a$$es out!
but mainly rafer , hes horrible! am i the only one who is sick of watching him play? its so boring and dissapointing. he has a few good games and everyone thinks hes gonna stay playing that way. no! hes never gonna be consistent and hes always gonna be a horrible shooter because he shoots sideways. thats like throwing curveballs at the rim. if your in the west and Rafer is starting you aint goin nowhere!
mcgrady-when hes on your team he wants to be the leader, but he will never be a winner and wont lead us nowhere. ship him out! ive seen more passion in wolf blitzer than tracy mcgrady.

You mean... kinda like we already did against the Warriors, Spurs (twice), Blazers (twice), Suns, Jazz, Lakers, and Nuggets? Came damn close to the Hornets (without McGrady) and Mavs a couple times, too.

Those mediocre teams we're "barely beating" have been playing us on the road, and they have also been pretty hot when we played them. Indiana was 13-7 at home coming in. Minnesota was on a run, including wins against the Suns and Warriors, and had won four straight at home. Seattle has won four of their last five, including some good wins. Indiana is just not ALL that bad of a team, and pretty good at home.

So yes, I do think we have what it takes.

Honestly, I'm being optimistic but I just don't see us winning a series against these top notch WC teams. The ONLY way we can win is if EVERYONE on our team is playing out of their mind for 7 games and I just don't see that happening.

I think Phoenix's gamble won't pay off. Dallas is fading, with or without getting Kidd. SA needs to make some adjustments. But if we run into a Utah, Golden State, or LA...we are gonna be screwed.

You think Utah, Golden State, and LA are better than Phoenix, Dallas, and San Antonio? ... Um... alright.

And in all the wins I mentioned, all the players on our team most definitely did not play "out of their minds". One or two played very well in every game. Nothing extraordinary (except for McGrady's 47 against Utah).

I got the same perception that the management is neglecting to address the weakness at PG or is complacent with current performance or handcuffed for whatever reason (tax, negotiation..). But at some point got to accept that can't ask for extra miles with limited potential. Playing his heart out and I admire him for that but a having a 42th ranked PG competing against other top guards in the west will alway remain a weak link. Why not be proactive and play to win instead of just keeping phoneline open?

What PG can we get without sacrificing more than 2 young rotation players and/or T-Mac/Yao???

Sorry, but I don't think anyone will do Snyder/Rafer for their backup PG that is supposedly better than Rafer.

Chris Pauls and Baron Davises just dont grow on NBDL trees.

Thats high-way robbery! There is no way the Rockets Management would be that stupid...giving away alston for only 1 player? (Nash & Barbosa for Alston...that would be much smarter)

I really think that you should say Suns Management. Trading Steve Nash for Rafer Alston would not make any sense to me at all, and would leave me puzzled as far as the Suns are concerned. I would say that they gave Steve Nash away.

    That's not fair.

Rafer is worth Nash, Barbossa AND Stoudemire!!!

But to be nice to the Suns, we will toss in Kirk Snyder together with Rafer to them. The press will be calling the trade for Rafer the 'steal of the century'!!!

    :D
