Do we de-value every player that comes through Houston?

Rockets is saving the best for last. Maybe not the best, but James could contribute big come playoffs. Kind of like Horry. Hopefully.

Don't get me wrong. I was all for the Juwan for MJ trade, but I didn't think he'd be pining on the bench all season long...

I'm definitely optimistic about our rookies though. They're very energetic. I see a great future for Brooks and Landry.

Take your own advice and go back and re-read my statement. I never claimed that a Cassell + Brooks combo would lead to a championship but I will claim that this combo is infinently much better than the current Rafer + Brooks + Luther + Mike James combo that the Rox have now and would improve their chances to 1, get into the playoffs, and 2, to possibly win a series.

I just don't understand what is up with James -- he is a much better player than what we have seen this season.

    Very strange.

We should find Mike Harris now and give him Steve's injured spot.

Okay. Well if you are happy winning 1 series, then MAYBE Cassel/Brooks in some parallel universe is better than Rafer/James/Brooks.

It's been well documented that the Rockets are in a "win-now" mode. Winning 1 playoff series isn't all that impressive. But picking up Cassel and dropping Rafer means next year you are WORSE off than you are now cause Rafer at least won't be on life support.

If you are going to propose ditching Rafer, exchanging him for Cassel isn't too impressive.

    What happened to Mike James?

Once he started playing, he dominated the ball too much, looked for his own shot too much, and didn't play much defense. Then when he did shoot, he shot terribly.

Basically, he sucked and got beat out by a rookie.

His numbers from November weren't bad but then a 6 game losing streak happened. Hopefully the Clippers can see he is still a decent PG who just hasn't fitted on the Rockets.

The only problem is that the rookie that outplayed him hasn't looked so good the last few games. If that trends continues, I think Mike James gets a second look.

Yeah, I've been wondering about that. Don't understand what's happened to AB at all.

However, I still think AB is who we should be developing. In fact, I still think we should put him in with the starting unit so he can finish all the mismatches and overplays on Yao and McGrady. I don't think he's getting consistent enough minutes and I think we have to live with him missing some shots until he relaxes because we know he can shoot it. Right now, he appears confused and thinking too much, not relaxed, and therefore his shot is off. I would bet too much talking from his mates and Rafer. They need to pipe down and let the kid play, give him his head.

Something's got to give at the point. We cannot go into the playoffs with Rafer shooting 3 for 11 every night and getting 35 minutes. So either develop Brooks or bring back James for a fourth look, or trade for Bibby.

Robbie, Exactly!!! only SF,MJ and Snyder instead of Harris is the really big mistake which Morey made. Although at the time we were calling him the WIZARD! Little did we know! :p

Don't count on it. I don't understand why people say AB has hit the rookie wall etc etc because he's still looking good. The three pointer he made against the Bucks was still beautiful as ever, the 1/5 is misrepresentation because after he made one he forced at least 2. He was still quick, getting past players, moving the ball, playing good D so there's nothing wrong with AB. Mike James has shown what he's worth: nothing. His shot is really ugly and every time he takes a shot it's a miracle it goes in. Move this guy with one or two players to LA for Cassell.

The people who doubt we have a better shot at getting where we want to go with Cassell and AB rather than Rafer, AB & MJ shouldn't. AB can start in a year or two and if Francis is healthy next year than we got some real talent boy. Picture Cassell and Francis at the PG spot with a rookie like AB, couldn't be better :D

I don't think there is any way we'll be able to get Bibby unfortunately. AB definitely needs to develop, but so far his play as the PG/playmaker has been really shaky. I'm just not sure he's ready to play with the starters at this point. With his recent play, I wonder if it's just the ups and downs of being a rookie.

So if he keeps struggling it will probably force RA's hand to play MJ. Dammit, if only Rafer could shoot the ball!

While this is true this doesn't take anything aay from what Landry is doing. He's given opportunities and he's taking advantage of almost every single one. That can't be said about alot of players on our team.

LOL keep hoping.... James =/= Horry on any day on any planet.

We need to get Cassel and keep Alston and Brooks... We'll be able to keep Sam's minutes at around 30 or so a night and Brooks and Alston can rest him.

But yea, 4th quarter clutch squad is:

    Yao
    Landry
    McGrady
    Battier
    Sam the Alien

I love how everyone says rookies won't be productive in the playoffs. How about last year, Daniel Gibson? Hardly played at all during the season and was on fire during the playoffs.
