So when everyone over this side of the globe is celebrating the Chinese New Year (February 7), Yao Ming still joined his team mates in team practice on the eve of Chinese New Year (February 6) in preparation for the game versus Cleveland Cavaliers.

The practice was closed door, and when it was open to the media, the reporters found out that

    • Luther Head re-injured himself during the team practice, could not complete it, and had to leave early.
    • Tracy McGrady had already sneaked out early after the team practice so as to avoid interviews by the press.
    • Yao Ming also wanted to get out of Toyota Centre quick, but he was immediately surrounded by reporters, throwing at him questions related to Shaquille O'Neal's transfer to Phoenix Suns.

Following sohu.com article gave us an account of the interview of Yao Ming right after the team practice, and gave some insight in what Yao Ming thought about Shaquille O'Neal's transfer to Phoenix Suns, and the Rockets' current surge towards grabbing a playoff spot.

Luther re-injured himself in practice? That really sucks. :( I hope it doesn't turn into an extended injury.

Well, this time they will play on the Chinese New Year day....February 7, albeit USA Houston local time.

And probably Yao Ming's whole family will be there to support him....including Ye Li's parents, Yao Ming's in-laws, as they have joined Big Yao in Houston to celebrate the Chinese New Year together.

I understand why some posters prefer the OP to use a spoiler for the pictures in the game threads and I am one of them too. But this thread is specifically about a Rockets practice. I don't see why the OP has to use a spoiler for them.

Geeze, at least the pictures are really related to the thread topic, unlike some fools who post random pictures in threads which have nothing to do the topic at all.
