That's easy to say in hindsight. But you can't deny that EVERYONE thought those were great moves, and Alston was on his way out. Every NBA analyst and their moms thought this was a major coup.

All you can do is try your best at the time. I think Morey did that. Not to mention we aren't buried in crippling contracts because of said moves.

Trade Battier for Artest and I am all for it.

Forget Big 3, Houston would be Phoenix like w/their Big 4 (Yao, Kidd, Artest, RJ) plus Scola.

RA would be able to move the ball, run, pass, D & shoot with that lineup.

I've had to disagree, because the proposed trade did not involve any of our young talents other than Scola; however, I wouldn't make that trade, because we would be giving up too many rotation players.

I like the idea of getting Kidd, but it would gut our roster pretty bad, and lose some young talent we are growing to enjoy more and more.

Although this is highly unlikely, could J. Kidd theoretically take a salary cut and make trading for him a little easier?

if jason kidd was 28 sure.

tmac is so lazy but man, he's my favorite basketball player. i dont like how he's been underrated so much here in a rocket's forum. i have like 4 versions of the t-mac 5s. >,>.

I love it when tracy mcgrady palms the ball, away from the defender. that stance is awesome :D

They only trade that will move us forward is the following.

    Tmac, Rafer, and MJ

    for

    Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson.

This trade gives us a better defender and higher IQ point guard to get Yao and everyone else involved in the offense. Matching Jefferson and Battier gives us 2 great defenders against scoring SG and SF in the west. Plus Jefferson's movement without the ball would be a tremendous upgrade over stand outside and shoot Tmac.

I wouldn't trade Mac for Kidd.

Maybe Jefferson, player to be named, and draft pick

Kidd might be 35 but at the rate TMac is going (injuries) Kidd might outlast him. By the way assists are just as good as points. You dont get assists without scoring.

Another thing that is funny to me is, at the beginning of the year all everyone said is how loaded we were. Now everyone is acting like we are nothing without TMac.

Sign me up for TMac for Kidd straight up. Sorry I just dont see TMac as the great player most here seem to think. IMO he is another peja stojakovic. A great but streaky shooter who every once in a while can give your team a big boost but jsut not consistenly enough to put you over the top.

Now Im not saying Kidd will either at this point in hi career, but he does have a shorter contract than TMac.

T-Mac is a consistent 25/6/5 player year in and year out, and the Rockets have a winning % of over 63% in games he has played since arriving in Houston. He not only carries the scoring load, but also the playmaking load. He is not just a shooter/scorer like Peja...he can carry teams.

Games he has played huh? Well thats one of the problems right there. When has TMac carried us through the playoffs? Isnt that when a load carrier gets defined?
