I assume they'll play the "game" before a real game involving those same teams. Sort of like a double header, but one of them is really really short.

I think the problem is fundamentally this: The official scorers at games are employess of the HOME TEAM, not of the LEAGUE. I don't know why refs are employed by the League, but the scorers are employed by the home team. Not to say they are all actually biased, but they certainly have incentive to be-- and the League as less control over their quality.

I dont think this is right, you made a mistake, so what? its only one game in the regular season. Its impressive how the NBA wants to Miami get better. First, giving a lot of free throws to Wade, and now this.
I watched this game. All i'll say is there was a sequence where Marvin Williams drove to the basket and Shaq pretty much grabbed him and threw him out of the lane. There's your phantom sixth foul right there.
I think the NBA should use this as a huge charity event. Open the arena and concessions, let the team keep enough to cover costs and then donate the rest to charity.
With Shaq traded for Marion, how is this going to play out now given that the incorrect foul count which triggered this whole replay was against Shaq.
How does the Shaq trade affect this replay as it was all triggered by the incorrect foul count against Shaq and now he's not even part of Miami?

Wow, are you guys serious? The Heat traded Shaq for Marion. Now they will use Marion in the game. It doesn't change the fact that the staticians couldn't count how many fouls Shaq received. I think this is great. Even if it doesn't change anything in the post-season, it doesn't hurt/cost anything to decide the game right before the start of their next game. Plus, it sells tickets. I wonder what the league would have done if they played all 4 of their games.
this has to still be determined by the league according to the article above... the stats will show for the game played last month, so I doubt the new players on the Heat would be available... it's not a fact that Marion is playing. people really need to READ...
