ShaQ is no match for Yao Ming now, too old and slow.... not much of a rivalry, more like the Suns and Lakers betters, Kobe vs ShaQ, also remember, past few years, Suns have eliminated the Lakers in 1st rounds.

Just go watch that game between Rockets @ Heat 2007, Yaoza ownz!!! :p

It was never really a rivialry, just media hype. Shaq pwns Yao but now who knows because of his injuries and old age. If only Yao played half as physical as Shaq =(

An old Shaq earlier this season completely dominated Yao. Anytime Yao is played physically by an opposing big man he relapses back to an infantile state....When Yao can learn to take a hit and realizes that he should be just as physical with the opposing teams then he would be truly a great player....Then again this is his 6th season and will he ever be that player we desire him to be....He easily becomes disconcerted when his shot is blocked, when opposing centers play him physical, and when he is turning the ball over. He needs to realize to pick himself up and dish out some punishment...I will then believe that we will dominate and go pass the 1st round.....Yao does become dominant in flashes but we need some consistency from him.

    Totally agreed Pruvis!

I wish he would stop doing that fadeaway shot and learn perfect his hook shot instead. Fadeaways avoid contact while hook shots you go either straight up or learn into your opponent. I think he should do some mix martial arts during the off season and get use to contact :)

Don't mind if Yao can get his fadeway off like this. He just needs to be quicker in getting his shot off.

I dont think modelling Yaos game to Hakeem is a good idea. He is too slow. I rather him use his size and punish opponents.

A lot of ignorant comment here.

In recent years Yao has consistently outplayed Shaq outside of ONE game early this season. It isn't a rivalry. Shaq is not an elite Center. Yao is.

Yao has gotten the better of Shaq on the majority of their matchups. Shaq's only asset is his size, which is negated when he plays an opponent bigger than himself. He gets very frustrated against Yao. Yao is a much better center than Shaq. Im glad the Suns got Shaq because Yao matches up very well against him, alot better than going against a quick player like Amare. Only thing Im worried about is how will Scola guard Amare.

dude rockets aint gonna get past the 1st round, they arent even in the playoffs yet. they would have to play suns in the 1st round, and they would get swept.

    This is fantastic!!!

The Suns where the team I worried about the most if we had to face them in the playoffs, but now I like our chances.
