Crazy season so far, starting in the preseason w/ the Celtics triumvirate of KG/Allen/Pierce. Here in Rockets land we thought we pulled off a major coup landing James, Francis, and Scola.

Now midseason it looks like we're in for some major moves that will seriously shift the power players in the NBA. Gasol to the Lakers makes many people write them in for a WC final. Shaq to the Suns any moment now. Kidd's name is still floating around, as well as Artest. I know on many fan forums everyone is trying to figure out if their team could land Mike Miller (not a big time name, but still a solid upgrade for most teams).

I'm sure I'm forgetting some other obvious, significant moves. Right now we are looking at two legendary franchises (and the rivalry to go along w/ it) go from zero to hero in the Celtics and Lakers in a single season! Is this one of the most entertaining seasons of player transactions in years?

Even though talent is pretty much polarizing to only a few teams, it's a great time to be an NBA fan...as long as your team is in the West.

If someone would have proposed these trades on the teams message boards the poster would have been ridiculed and exiled. Could you imagine the thread "I know a way we could have KG, Allen, and still keep Pierce!" Or someone proposing Gasol for nothing in a random trade thread at the Lakers site. Any Shaq proposal would lead to automatic ridicule. Now we are getting "lets sign and trade Vinny Del Negro for Mike Miller" and you have to think hmm...

wow, is that actually allowed? Can we sign a player that retired as a Rocket a long time ago and trade him as an expiring? If true, the front office better act because that seems like a loophole in the CBA that will soon be closed...

The west has been great and when dallas gets kidd and portland gets harris it will be even better. Then if denver gets artest and somehow phoenix gets mike miller. It will go up to a higher level.

Great Season, great transaction. Cant wait for the playoffs

Most exciting in recent years for certain. The CBA agreements since 1999 have really chocked off blockbuster trades, especially during the season.

I am sure the Rockets are waiting to make a splash by trading a pick to Indiana for Kareem Rush.
