What's your grade of HR team performance so far? I gave them F at first, fail to make playoff. Then I think TMac is not healthy, new coach, new system, SF/MJ failure and they looked like improved now. I give them a D.

It's all about expectations. As many of experters believed before the beginning of season, Rockets had top 3 talents in West. Considering that Dallas was damaged by last year playoff upset; Nash began showing the ages since last year; it's an odd year for Spurs and other team not stable, I think the new assembled Rockets should be No. 1 in west. But it only lasted two weeks.

Now eight of west teams has 3 or four boardline All-star level players. Rockets only had two superstars if they are healthy. Yao/TMac need average 30+ points and a double/double to win a playoff series. Rockets need a third star, either Mike miller or Ron Artest. Rockets have Bonzi and snyder expired contracts(6m) and can add anything of SF,Head or picks to get them.

If Shaq goes to Suns, Suns will be the team to beat and Rockets can match them.

If anyone doesn't vote D+/- they are ying to themselves. If I told you before the season they would 28-20 and 9th for playoffs you would jumped down my throat said "no way!" and called me idiot.

I give my HR team an F.

They don't respond promptly to questions about sick/vacation time and seem pretty clueless about the pay scale.

Not sure why this is in the GARM, though...

    I voted D.

But without Tmac ( my expectations are high ), I'd give them A.

First 30 games weren't that good, but lately we have played a lot better. We have faced easier teams during the strecth but we have good change of beating the better teams in this league.

And dude your matching of grades to explanations is awful. If C is "about where you expected" then you must have been a piss poor student. And B- above expectations, sheesh.

Ted from accounting was a good pick up, he used to work for FedEx. The new secretary we lured away from Dallas has been solid lately too. I'm a little worried about the new marketing interns though, I don't think they'll pan out. I'm giving a B.

From the misguided use of the business term "HR" to mean the Rockets ("Rox" would have worked) to the moronic grading scale...the thread should be a candidate for worse thread of the week honors (were such a thing to exist)

Our HR team here is just not very knowledgable or responsive. I don't have any confidence in them.

I'll give you a couple of examples.

    1. I put in a few extra $ each month for a life insurance policy; so my wife can afford the remaining house mortgage if something happens to me. Well, because of our HR folks, I have to keep an eye on each paycheck, b/c sometimes this disappears. Once I called, and they had no idea that I'd ever signed up for life insurance. What a turnover!

    2. As a manager, sometimes I need help from them; I've got some people with severe temper problems. But then our HR dept all like recommends the worst external anger management consultant ever. Some hippy dippy useless guy that my people will just chew up in minutes. So I have to find my own consultants.

    Overall, our HR = C.

No, if you had said 28-20 with injuries to T-Mac, Alston, and Francis sprinkled in there, not to mention the disappointing play of Mike James I would ahve said that about sounds right. You are letting the standings fool you. Rockets have no control over the rest of the league.

I would think a 28-20 record would be good for 6th or 7th.
