I've heard about 3 or 4 speeches form Obama this week and they all sound like the ones I heard last year. but you know, his supporters are all college educated MBAs who are all about to join Mensa, they must be hearing something that the rest of us low income plebians just aren't hearing.
Nah I'm not (though I am a Missouri voter, absentee ). Here's the breakdown: http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/county/#MODEM This is going to be really close. A minute ago, Hillary was up 9K with 91 percent reporting... now, she's up 13K with 94 percent reporting, which gives her some breathing room. Counties left, though: The most notable is Boone... which is where Columbia/University of Missouri is. Obama leads 61-36, but only 27 percent of the vote is in. If those numbers hold, he'll pick up around 6,500 more votes there. Then, St. Louis County... he's up 61-37 (93k to 56k) but with 84 percent reporting. If that ratio holds, there's another 7,000 votes. After that, St. Louis City... he's up 70-29 (37k to 15k) with 83 percent reporting. If ratio holds, he'll gain around 4,400 more votes there. The other counties in the state seem to 99 percent be in. That said, I understand the flaw in the math... 83 percent of precincts reporting doesn't necessarily mean 83 percent of the vote is reported. It could be larger or smaller. But it's the best possible guess, and it's why Obama still has a very good shot.
You might be watching, but apparently you aren't listening. Also you apparently have never taken a look at Obama's accomplished record in the Senate. He's worked to strengthen our borders, produce immigration reform, produce benefits for our soldiers(don't you support the troops?), keep weapons such as Rocket Launchers from getting into the hands of terrorists etc. He's done all of this by working with his GOP counterparts. An impressive record indeed. I don't blame you for trying to downplay it and ignore it though, it isn't favorable at all to those you support.
tex does have a good point though. i think its time Obama hired another speechwriter or two. his speeches all sound exactly the same.

holy crap missouri is close 96% reported, the difference is only 4,000 in favor of hillary with such a close race, i dont see the delagate distribution to be that large in favor of whoever wins
I think the stump speeches of all the candidates are pretty similar. Contrary to what tex has said his speeches aren't laden with MLK references, or anything similar to We Shall Overcome. That is just tex playing to racial stereotypes.
Well, obama's civil rights rally just ended. Same old platitudes. Some dumb blonde behind him was buying his fairy tale talk like she was on BHO's hopium. I guess the big question is whether he stays in the race or not if California is a true disaster for him. Big delegates at stake there. Yeah, in delegates it'll essentially be a draw. But I think the media uses Missouri so frequently as a predictor that there's definitely some momentum that can be gained from winning, even if it's by a few hundred votes (which this will probably come down to).

fair enough but if I have to hear Obama talk one more time about overcoming (which he does use) or our time is here or believe, etc. I think I'll explode. The problem with him is that the everytime he uses these pie in the sky references in his speeches, my eyes just kinda glaze over. I think the older folks are looking for more details from him, and so far he hasn't done enough of that in his speeches.
What's most telling is your lack of comprehension. There was almost zero reference to Civil Rights in Obama's speech. Good try though trying to play to racial stereotyping.

One thing that may hurt Obama in MO is that she won virtually the entire state and he won the big cities. But delegates are distributed by congressional district, so she may actually net more delegates out of the deal (kind of how Obama won more delegates by winning rural Nevada despite losing the overall vote).
