Changes should be subtle, not entire. I agree with DrLudicrous and disagree with you. I want to see the Orlando Magic jersey again. Again, see Italy, Brazil, Argentina, etc.

RocketsDream, I feel ashamed for that. You can be guaranteed that such dirty player whose first name ends with "waldo" will NOT be in my team anymore.

I read on another website that the gates are opening at 4pm for tailgating.

The blue parking lot is where the Mexican fans will be hanging out, and the Red parking lot is where the American fans will be tailgating.

I missed the Broncos game so I have no idea what traffic is like on that side of town with a game at Reliant at night.

I will hang out wherever I hang out.

For Texans games, I usually go to the blue parking lot, so that is probably where I will be for the soccer game. I hope the Mexicans dont take offense at my trash talking.

I agree with you. No one should tell me where I can wave my green white and red flag or my loud ass Vicente Fernandez music.

Go ahead and trash-talk all you want, MR. CLUTCH. You still haven't corrected your post from earlier.

Kam... allright, I let the other one slide but... WTF is that a photo of, Indonesia?!?!

I would like to make another point: WE SHOULD PLAY ONE GAME IN EACH TEAM'S HOME every friggin' time. Wouldn't that be "fair"?

Anyone going to see either team practice?

I would love to see the US playing in Mexico, we need to be putting ourselves into tougher situations if we want to improve (even though most games in the US are dominated by Mexican fans).

I think the last friendly they tried having in Mexico they had to cancel because of TV rights issues. It was something weird like one station had all Mexico home games, and another had all US games, and they couldn't agree on who should be showing it. I don't think that was exactly the situation, but it was something goofy like that. In the end it just came down to money.

Add in the fact that both federations make tons of money by having the games in the US and it's simply easier/smarter to have games here.

:( I don't know why [showing the game on a certain TV station in Mexico] was even an issue (and it shouldn't be), and I need to look it up. Thank you for mentioning that. If anything, both stations should have shown it.

    Which game was that?

Nonetheless, it's so easy here in the states, eventhough Telemundo says "La casa oficial en español de la Selección de Estados Unidos" but yet they're not showing the game and Univision is, even though it's at the EE.UU.'s home. ABC should be showing it in ENGLISH.

Go figure. And, eventhough there are more MEXICANs at away games, and that will show up in stats and recordbooks, it doesn't matter to the Estados Unidos, since they have NEVER won in Mexico, but Mexico has won in the EE.UU. WTF.

    EDIT: FOUND IT

Will try to look for a Mexican source, to see if it was really the TV stations' debacle.

Apparently it was the US Spanish language rights that caused the problem.

When playing in Mexico there's not just the crowds to worry about, there's also the mental aspect and the altitude/smog (assuming the game would be played in Azteca). That's why I'd like to see us playing there, to test ourselves in those conditions.

Ha. Just what I had mentioned in my previous post. I guess I have to correct what I said about the EE.UU. being with Telemundo... and MEXICO is now with them for more years.

There was no contract with either UNIVISION and TELEMUNDO. The latter has Mexico's rights, and the former wanted to show the game. WOW. What a bunch of children.

http://www.laopinion.com/deportes/?rkey=00000000000002104240 mentions that there was a word from the FMF about showing no interest in playing a game that would NOT be televised in los Estados Unidos. There are some good quotes in there. Gulati even has some words for Mexico by saying "we're not scared to play Mexico at their home and we want to show we're the best in CONCACAF". I like that attitude.

ESPN2 would have shown it, but that wouldn't have benefitted the "Hispanic" market.

In general I love the country of Mexico (have spent a fair amount of time working there), but Azteca is a sh!thole. The air is absolutely disgusting and you can't breathe. Apparently Mexico insists on playing their games there due to the home field advantage they gain.

    FINAL ROLL CALL?

I will be up behind the goal in the nosebleeds in 648 (bought the tickets late), probably donning a mexican wrestler mask. :D

Will be tailgating IN THE COLD starting at about 6 by the Convention Center (NE of the Astrodome), if you'd like to show up and say hello.
