Anybody notice he is doing a lot better on 3s since February began? 4-6 vs the Wolves tonight 2-5 vs the Milwaukee Bucks 3-6 vs the Indiana Pacers 9-17 overall for over 50%. I also hope this doesnt jinx T-Mac on thursday.
he's taking 3s within the offense, not those wild pathetic 3s on fast-breaks/heat checks. he tried one tonight and he missed. just stop those. only take those when the shot clock is winding down and his fg% should be around 46-47%.
yeah, he seems to be more disciplined about those covered three's, but he still takes a few too many. Definite improvement
Yeah I hate those heat checks, the last time he made one I recall was vs the Mavericks, when it hit the backboard.
GJ, you've already jinxed him Hey atleast a positive thread for a change (I've noticed that these emo TOFs/YOFs don't like non-bashing threads though)
The one quick 3 he took was because it was a 2 for 1 situation. So we can excuse him for that. I think T-Mac, for the most part, has been playing within the offense. He's getting his ISOs (some may not want to admit it, but that's an effective play), but he looks to be making his move a little more quickly and definitively. I don't mind if his turnovers go up a bit, as long as he's attacking the defenses with a purpose.
This is sort of irrelevant. He has unlimited range, so when he shoots well, he shoots 3's well too. Shooting for him is about concentration and energy on the lift. Sometimes he just shoots to shoot. When he has to make them, he almost always does. When he shoots bad in general, he shoots bad from 3 as well.
How about that Landry jumper even, finally on display If McGrady can keep hitting, and once Aaron Brooks starts hitting like he can...
Did you notice they are all road games. Look thr this difference. Home 16.9PPG (39 FG% - 29 3p%) Road 25.8 (46 FG% - 343p%) If T-Mac is able to play the same at home Houston is a Elite team.
That's why trading T-Mac might be a good idea, we don't have to worry about him getting hot at Toyota Center.
I hope I can get a reply in before this thread is turned into another YOF v. TOF bashing thread and the opinion of REAL ROCKET FANS are lost among the non-sense. Another thing I have noticed is that his release looks much more smoother in the last couple of games. He is doing the usual one-leg out jump and is coming down in a smoother motion after his release. Hopefully the OP didn't jinx him. All I can say is that it feels good to be on another winning streak so LET'S GO ROCKETS!
Brooks three point shooting has been really disapointing to me so far. I thought that was one of his biggest strengths coming in to the league but it's been a weakness. He seems to shoot the ball way too hard every time.
I always doubted his 3 point shooting can become much of a threat to the opponent team not because he can't shoot them but because of his size which makes it easier for his shots to be disturbed or blocked. Brooks' most valuable asset is actually his speed.
His game winning shot last night was a pretty bad shot. I yelled "NO!" until it went in. Too much time on the shot clock. I do trust him in thos e situations when he is feeling it, though.
Bad shot? Clean look off a screen from Yao? A defender was in the picture, but he came after the shot was released. Tracy had a nice shooting stroke most of the night. Who else was going to win the game for us? How many games does he have to win since his return (not even counting when he started hot this season before the elbow and knee injuries)? Man, if he was still out, we wouldn't even be talking about any damn playoffs...
