Can anyone give me an idea as to where they bank and if it's any good? I bank with bank of america and I'm thinking of banking somewhere else b/c of their monthly fees. I'm looking for a good savings account with a high apy. thanks.
Amegy has been real good for me. I have no complaints. Capital one is pretty good as well, or so I hear.
how did you manage to get that? they've been taking out around $8 bucks a month for maintenance fees. do you bank online with them as well?
I have online access...if thats what you mean. I have checking and savings account. There are some basic requirements such as minimum balance that I easily meet every month that eliminates any maintenance fees.
Compass bank does that too. You have to mail in your receipts from atms that charged you for using them and they will put the money back into your account.
I bank with WaMu, been with them since I was 18 (I am 26 now). I also worked for them for 3 yrs. I just switched jobs to accomodate my field interest that I went to school for. I still bank with them. They are a real good bank!! NO ATM FEES, NO CHECK ORDER FEES, NO MIN BALANCE, NO Direct Depsoit required. 3 cents given to you everytime you use your debit card. Free online banking and billpay. You can also view pending transactions online. Free Identity Theft service, Free WIRE TRANSFERS!! and the list goes on. they are closed on Sundays and open from 9am-1pm on Saturday. 9am -6pm Mon thru Fri. Do NOT go to Wells Fargo, heard a lot of stuff about them. too many hidden FEES!!! the Savings account with Wamu is paying something like 4.65%APY right now. with a min balance of only 300 bucks. It is a GREAT DEAL!!!
I love woodforest bank. Depends on where u live but 24 hr. bank in wal-marts which means there everywhere plus they always seem to hire hot little mexican chicks to work there. Also no fees and theres one 500 feet from house doesnt hurt
shaaz, do you have a checking and savings account with them? I've been going back and forth between wamu and wachovia....thanks for your input by the way.
stay away from chase. i hear the small chains are the best, they take better care of their customers, kinda like the ma and pa stores
