Who do you think will start next year and why? Sage didn't look too bad at the end of the year. They both had pretty much similar numbers overall.

I'm assuming you are going to get flamed by texans fans considering many of them would opt for Matt Schaub over a young pro-bowler (Tony Romo). And if not, then I would need to see an excellent explanation why.

schaub for sure. He didnt even get to play a whole lot with healthy teamtes around him. He only played a few games with AJ among numerous other injuries. Give hima few game to see what he can do and start off like he did last season. If he doesnt seem like he can do it, let rosenfels play

If the Texans do not improved the OL, I don't think it really matters. With a better OL, one of the two might stand out. As is, they both look rather average, with one getting paid better for no apparent reason.

Rosenfels is clearly not a starting caliber NFL QB. So next season it should be Schaub, no doubt. If Schaub fails next season, get rid of him and bring in someone else. Anybody who thinks Rosenfels is up to the task is sadly mistaken. He is a good backup, no more.

Of course, if Schaub flames out, then bench him and let Sage finish out the season.

Over a full season Sage would throw a ton of interceptions. Schaub doesn't have a big arm, but he doesn't make a lot of mistakes. I have concerns about Matt's durability, but if he can stay on the field he is a good if not spectacular starting QB.

Dunta's injury is probably the most significant stumbling block to the Texans improvement, if he can come back at something close to full strength then we are a cinch playoff team. If he can't we have more wood to chop in the off-season.

rosenfels tends to be a little impatient. It's ok to dink and dunk your way down the field.
I'm praying that Spencer comes back healthy! I think it was richard justice that said, this past week, that spencer was looking good. He just needs to shed lbs.

Schaub is no doubt the starter.

We should keep Sage because he is the ultimate backup and the backup only. Since Schaub looked fragile at times or more, Sage can provide insurance and immediately step in and make an impact as the backup.

Schaub, when surrounded by a solid OL and healthy supporting cast, is a solid performer who can get us the W's.

I hope the Texans get a young, talented LT via draft or free agency and platoon with Ephraim "Mr. PHENOMENAL" Salaam and Spencer who is recovering from injury.

Remember that Schaub was responsible for AJ's injury. Schaub completely hung him out to dry over the middle of the field which caused AJ to get pasted.

I still like Schaub over Sage, though. Having a good backup QB is an awesome thing

Schuab scores a lot less touchdowns than Rosenfals as well. Schuab is 9-9 in 11 games while Rosenfals is 15-12 in 7 games. I think one of the bigger things that held us back last season was settling for fieldgoals and failing to score touchdowns. No question Schuab is going to start, simply because he wasnt horrible and we are paying him 50 million, but the guy has to put more points on the board. He has been nothing but mediocre so far - includin his time in Atlanta. Therefore i think Rosenfals should be given a chance.

    Bingo
    Sage = Schuab at worse
Sage + 2 draft picks and 40+Million Dollars >>>> Schaub

    IMO
the team just seemed to look better with Sage out there
Schaub is the NEW DAVID CARR though . . . since he got all that money
he will start . .he will get infinite excuses for being mediocre [Carr was horrible at the end]

Then your opinion is idiotic, saying Schaub is "the new David Carr".

Your post made some sense until the David Carr thing...Schaub is ten times the QB Carr was. Schaub will start because we did invest so much in him...but it's not like that's the only reason he's starting. He's a better decision maker than Sage, and makes less mistakes. Sage looked good in most of his starts because we had a better running game in the second half of the season, taking pressure off of him. The only true advantage Sage has is that he is more mobile.

That being said, Sage deserves to get a shot. Maybe after next year someone will give up a solid pick for him.
