We also could dip our foot in the Euroleague to get a guy. How about Lithuanian shooting guard Arvydas Macijauskas (25, 6-4, 17.8 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1.4 spg), Euroleague's Player of the Month for March, who is considered by many to be the best shooter in the world
I don't know but it seems like a longshot to get Gilbert Arenas, but washington can win without him. He has allready said he will opt out, but with him shooting the ball we can get some points Arenas=James/battier/snyder/1st rounder
It's hard to imagine us impoving from where we are now. 6 game road winning streak and still two seeds out. Gotta love the east.
This guy is everything Vspan was not. Low TO's, shooter, and quick. He would also satisfy Sam Fisher's Euroleague worship of Olympiacos. LOL
All these statistics are peripheral. Honestly who cares how many players you have in double figures, it's not a guaranteed recipe for success like, "oh they have the most players in double figures, give the title to them". They're just benchmarks for balanced scoring, and sure it would be nice to have balanced scoring but it doesn't guarantee success. For one, think about the other half of the game, defense. The Spurs sure do, and it seems to work against the likes of Phoenix and Dallas each year. For another, think about how "balanced" the scoring was in the Shaq/Kobe MJ/Pippen years. Here's the answer: you DON'T need balanced scoring. All you need is efficient scoring from your superstars which cannot be stopped in crunch time, and a good supporting cast to make the other team pay if they double too much. So I think, compared to last year, these Rockets are much improved in that respect. We finally have scoring PF's, for one.
"Big three" means three proven stars. Bynum just had a good month or so and I won't even label him "big" at this stage. Kobe just makes some good players look like stars. Guard Bynum like he's Yao and see what happens. So Lakers is still essentially a one superstar, multiple good players team. The two great star + multiple good player model has worked great before. I don't see why you need change. Unless there's another clutch city miracle, I don't see Rox will win big this season. But give this team one or two seasons perhaps Landry will turn into a Bynum, and Scola become Gasol. "Big" comes from small.
I'd rather the Rockets move into a Piston's like direction with their players. Make the whole team tough, gritty, resilient, determined and aggressive. Get players who, while are not superstars, perform well enough individually, but excel as a team on court. Actually, I think the Rockets already have the pieces in place - Yao, T-Mac, Battier, Scola, Landry, Brooks, Bonzi, etc. Now it is just making all these jokers play with heart, chemistry and teamwork. Then the Rockets can move like the Pistons.
Pistons' approach may work OK in the east. I doubt it'd work in the west. In the east you can have get by 1st and 2nd round by just above average talent, then raise your intensity for a couple of series and hope for the best. The west is too talented. It's hard to keep playing at overdrive mode for so many series.
Acquiring any of the following "A" list IMO gets us to the championship level: Antawn Jamison; Ron Artest or Gilbert Arenas -- assuming we keep Yao and T-Mc and hopefully Scola. The rest are expendable.

It was a good team. Played for the Hornets one season but Byron Scott never gave him much of a chance.
You call Odom, a player with a 13.2/9.5 average a "big"?? Yao got a 12/12 last night and somebody here want to trade him.
Bynum is already like the 3rd best center in the league. That guy catches anything that is thrown him and dunks it down. He rebounds very well too. Derek fisher > odom
No clue what the poll options mean. That being said, I really think three star teams are the wave of the future. Sincerely,
