I've read several of these threads over the past year about favorite TV shows, and even in the threads with "favorite shows no longer on television," I rarely see anything beyond the '90s. So, this thread is dedicated to "favorite classic TV" shows, which I would define as anything beyond the last 20 years or so. Although there are too many to mention, my top 10 would be something like: 1. The Rockford Files 2. I Love Lucy 3. The Twilight Zone 4. Hawaii Five-O 5. All in the Family 6. Alfred Hitchcock Presents 7. Good Times 8. Taxi 9. Hill Street Blues 10. Quincy Personal reasons for most, but based on the actors, the soundtrack, the writing/plots, the humor, and of course the Espirit, Rockford has to be #1.
Bewitched, The Monkees, Gomer Pyle, I Love Lucy: the kinds of programs that used to run on daytime UHF television before the mid-to-late '90s, when it devolved into Ricki Lake copycats and the still inexplicable "Judge shows."
1. Monty Python's Flying Circus. 2. Twilight Zone 3. Perry Mason 4. Gunsmoke 5. Square Pegs 6. Slap Maxwell 7. Buffalo Bill 8. The Andy Griffith Show 9. Leave It To Beaver 10. The Dick Van Dyke Show
Pretty much anything on TV Land. I love old shows. I really don't watch much modern TV other than stuff on Animal Planet, History Channel, Discovery Channel, etc. Some of my faves : Sanford & Son, Good Times, The Jeffersons, I Love Lucy, Beverly Hillbillies, Gilligan's Island, The Andy Griffith Show, The Munsters, Three's Company, etc.
Magnum P.I. RipTide Remington Steele Simon & Simon The Jeffersons All in the Family The Carol Burnett Show Sanford and Son Dr Who [old tom baker] Star Trek V Old Superman Too many cartoons to count Rocket River
Miami Vice Knight Rider Threes Company Different Strokes Land of the Lost Fantasy Island Hawaii Five-O Brady Bunch Beverly Hillbillies Sanford and Son Cheers Incredible Hulk Alf
Some of my favorite "classic" shows: Green Acres The Dick Van Dyke Show The Mary Tyler Moore Show The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis Geez, there are probably tons others, but those are the big ones that spring to mind. And one of the things I love about DVD is that a lot of these shows are available in full season form on DVD.
Most vivid memory has to be Airwolf, which I thought was just awesome when I saw it on reruns. I can still hum that tune today.
