With the recent confrontation between Shaquille O'Neal and Brad Miller in the NBA, I was wondering what is one fight or confrontation that happened in any sport that you guys will always remember? I always remember or think of the fight that the Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat had in the playoffs several years ago and there were two college football teams that got into a scuffle several years ago as well but I don't remember the schools they were from but I believe one was San Diego State. What do you guys think?

The George Brett Pine-Tar incident sticks out in my mind.

I also won't forget the Vernon Maxwell / Fan confrontation.

I remember hakeem kicking a bunch of Blazers while he was on his back a long time ago.

the Sixers/Pistons brawl from the late 80s stands out.

the nolan ryan ass-whooping on robin ventura is memorable.

I don't know if this counts, but the whole terrell owens/george teague thing from last year was good.

didn't dr. J try to strangle larry bird once? oh, and then there was another time when xavier mcdaniel tried to strangle somebody.

Definitely the Nolan Ryan / Robin Ventura fight. I was staying at my grandparents for the summer and they live in Jacksboro TX which is close to Forth Worth. They are huge Rangers fans. I got back from playing volleyball and they said that I missed a great fight. They made it sound like it was boxing. Then we watched the news and we watched Nolan kick that ass. It was the funniest thing I ever saw. He totally beat the crap out of him.

Barkley vs Shaq was the first game my girl ever went to w/ me, so it was very memorable, unfortunately, in comparison she finds most other games less-exciting

Most memorable? Olajuwon vs Kupchak. Sampson takes over down the stretch, hits the miracle shot, Lakers die in 5. It doesn't get any better than that.

When we played Milby I had to guard Louis Truscott (used to play for Nebraska but plays for UH now). I also had to guard Alton Ford a little bit, but we won't talk about that.

Anyway, Truscott got pissed off at me cause I was boxing him out, and he flat out picked me up and threw me to the floor. It wasn't like a shove or anything, he simply wrapped up, lifted me off the ground and and just threw me down on my back, cursing at me the whole time. First thing I thought was, "OK, at least I don't have to guard him anymore," since I figured he would be ejected from the game.

Nope. The refs didn't call a thing...didn't even see it. Our crowd is screaming like crazy but no dice. I didn't retaliate directly...he easily had 6 or 7 inches on me so I didn't think it would do much good. The rest of the game was pretty rough for the both of us, though. Whenever we got the chance we would get in some elbows or a knee to the thigh and the like...I imagine he left the game with a few bruises, too, but I was pretty beat up after the game...

Needless to say we didn't shake hands afterwards.

Two years ago. Me against one of Roger Clemen's kids. I made him my b**** in that basketball game. Roger was mad. Chewed his kid out in front of everyone. I smiled.
