Pardon me if this is a stupid question or has been asked already, but I guess about a month ago, I noticed the acronym "BA" in the boxscores on Yahoo Sports right next to blocked shots. Anyone know what that stands for?
stands for "Base Adjustment" Anytime a player goes for a pump fake, then jumps without releasing the ball until halfway down to the ground, its a Base Adjustment
Actually, now that I look at it, stats for BS and BA are reversed for each team, i.e. right now, the Rockets have 7 BS and 3 BA, while the Bucks have 3 BS and 7 BA. This is true for every boxscore tonight, so I think that would make Rudi's guess better than yours.
Just simple logic. If the Rockets have seven blocks, the Bucks must have been blocked seven times. Same for if the Bucks have three blocks, the Rockets have been blocked three times. End stupid thread.
a block attempt would be every time player jumps in the air with his hands up. i assume it's "blocks against." meaning how many times you got blocked vs. BS, how many blocks you have. i wonder who leads the league in getting thier shot blocked?
It's definitley "Blocks Against." I'm surpised some of you guys are just now noticing this stat. Makes a box score that much more fun. As far as who leads the league, I'd honestly put my money on Tim Duncan. Just from watching him, he always seems to get his shots blocked a good 2 to 3 times a game.
