Ok cool, thanks. I am still on the fence because it is a Wednesday night. How long do soccer matches last for in real-time? I know the game itself is 90 minutes, but how long with halftime and all that. Pretty much in and out the door. If the game is at 8, what time can I expect to leave my seat for the exits?

Just because you "leave" Reliant Stadium, it doesn't really mean you are leaving Reliant.

    Traffic will suck.

Soccer is great about timing. Since there are no stoppages, the final whistle will blow almost exactly 2 hours after the game starts.

I'm a hispanic and I'll be cheering for the US.

The tailgating will rival the NFL games. It's good times with a ton of s*** talking.

I have proof you don't drink BUD LIGHT, Buck Turgidson. :D
Based upon the latest few games between these two, you don't want to leave a minute too soon and miss something. The game is at 8, so it will end at about 9:55 for stoppage time, but you can be sure you won't leave your seat until after 10:15, since that's when the teams come back and thank the crowds after talking to the media, exchanging jerseys, spitting at each other, and what not.
Looks like we Mexicans don't learn. We've outnumbered the Yanks by maybe 4 to 2 the last couple of games (Arizona, Illinois), but come up short.
 You know he meant to ask "HOW MANY MEXICANS?" You don't count :p.

NashVegas, I've done tailgating for most soccer events I've attended, but by the looks of this page http://www.reliantpark.com/en/cms/?105 , we'd better check tha they'll allow us before we decide to do so.

    I'd say 70% Mexican to 30% American.

The game will last exactly two hours...and then whatever stoppage time is left and/or if it's still a tie. I'm predicting 2-1 EE UU.

There should be a large group of US fans in the blue lot, and Nike is also setting up an area there to give out freebies as part of a new ad campaign.

I'm not crazy about the new uniform. Reminds me too much of the 1994 debacle. Those were some of the worst uniforms in national team history.

Not really a rivalry, US wins every time.

But should be good practice for the US nonetheless.

It doesn't seem that bad to me, hopefully it looks better in person though.

And I'd love to get my hands on one of those '94 jerseys, they were so bad they're classics now.

I agree, the EE.UU.'s new uniform is hideous, and should look for colors that make it classic. It shouldn't be changing styles every freakin' year. No wonder fans don't stick to them. Look at Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Germany, who have never changed their own classic look.
 Are you dumb, or just British? [name that skit]
Mr. Clutch should Mr. correct his Mr. post.

Did anyone read the ESPN-the-mag "inside soccer" column about the respect Mexican players have now given the Estadounidenses? I thought it was a fair assessment. I will try to find it online.

    Double-posting requires quality and bullschiett:
F*hck, HUGO. At least admit being stupid the last 2 games, since you were coach.

    EDIT: Mexico's roster
Mexico will be arriving at the IAH at about 12 noon, with Salcido, Pardo, and Márquez arriving within the next day.

I like the new jersey. It's classy and it's expected that national teams change jerseys every 2 years.

I wish they would keep the primary jersey the same with small changes to it, not a complete redesign every two years. Save that for the second and third jerseys.

Is this the new jerseys that y'all don't like? I kinda like it. I liked last year's better, but this year's is certainly better than this atrocity.
