I dont want to lose BAttier either. He's been playin really great defense this year.
He put tha clamps on Gay, Grangler, Kobe in tha second half of tha game, Peja, Caron Butler, etc.

I dont want to lose Battier. I knoiw he doesnt light it up scoring wise, but he's a valuable asset to our team, imo.

Can have steak at every meal.

I'm sure that no other fan base wants Mike Miller more than Rockets fans. His name is pretty much on these boards on a weekly basis for quite some time. Maybe it would turn Tracy into T-Mac once again!!!

I'll take this trade with a heartbeat! Although Battier is a key defensive player on this team and making that clutch shots when you needed it, i'll pull this trade.

I would love to Mike Miller as a Rocket, but I wonder if the Rockets have the balls to pull off a mid season trade? Morey strikes me as a guy who doesnt mid pulling the trigger on a "sure" thing, but a midseaon trade is risky. ie Chemistry, a player's time to adjust, ect.

Considering this team needs only one backup center until next season, there's not need to rush with some trades.

I'm sure T-Mac'd like Mike Miller since he's his homeboy from Magic town, but trading away KEY players like Shane Battier is nonsense.

Team would lose chemistry, player that came in needs to adjust, etc. something Rockets have no time to do.

I can only see Kirk Snyder traded but nothing bigger than that, Francis is injured, rehabing and sure he'd like to play here, give him a chance, he certainly wants to play.

Mike James on the other hand has a lot to show up, but didn't do that this season, I personaly would give him a one more shot, playoffs and probably next season, he's a veteran, with RING, something that only few players have, playoff experince, I like Mike James.

If you take Bonzi and Snyder's expiring deals and add one or two more pieces you have a legitimate cost-cutting package for a team like Memphis that's clearly looking to slash salary. Mike Miller makes roughly $8 million a year -- that's not that hard to match in terms of getting a deal done.

Players I'm willing to give up:

    Snyder
    Head
    Francis
    James
    Novak

If Kwame Brown could be had for Gasol, I know we could get Sam Cassell or Antoine Walker for one or more of these guys.

Players I would give up for the right guy:

Alston (if needed to be involved in a trade for Mike Bibby or Jason Kidd)
Battier (ONLY if Ron Artest is involved)
Hayes (if needed as a throw in for the names above)

The rest are untouchable IMO for various and realistic reasons (ex. no Lebron for Bonzi is happening)

Straight up! But what this team really needs now is a 10-20 min back up center that will hold opposing big man for short minutes that will give Yao a short breather on the bench.

You value Shane too highly. Clutchfans posters, including me, would not have griped nearly so much had the original trade been for Mike Miller. (However, I'd still prefer Rudy Gay.) Miller, at 6-8, can play PG, SG or SF and can be a game changer with or without T-Mc.

Brilliant!! :D I wonder if the Grizz is willing to make a trade for Darko Milicic and they get Mike James and Kirk Snyder or Steve Francis? Just a thought. 3 Yrs left on Darko's contract $6.5 Mil, James $5.6mil 2yrs., Kirk Snyder $2.4Mil for 1Yr. This trade will work, just use the ESPN Trade Machine.

maybe if the pacers, kings, and clippers keep on losing, something will come up.

if the knicks can beat the pacers next week there's a very good chance of indiana beating their 11 game losing streak from last season.

My dream list (hopefully, this dream will come true in the next two weeks):

    -Artest
    -Miller
    -Bibby
    -Kidd

If we can steal one of these guys like the Lakers stole Gasol, then we would be in business. Like many have pointed out, the Rockets should be shopping Francis, Bonzi, Head, Snyder, and Novak. I think this is the only way to go without putting the future of the Rockets in real jeopardy. CL and AB should be close to untouchable because they are developing very quickly and have shown great flashes of talent. Scola, Battier, and Mac should be almost untouchable unless we get some really good value back. And needless to say, Yao should be untouchable because he is one of the last of a dying breed.

No no no no no. There's a reason people don't trade rookies. They are cheap, but most importantly they still got a lotta UPSIDE. Even Scola. Imagine him when he stops getting rookie calls and learns better defense. Man that tandem with him and Landry will be nasty.

Players that we must NOT lose:

Carl Landry (could end up being a 'just-below' all-star player)
Yao Ming (he is the houston rockets)
Shane Battier (he does all the things that no other rocket does)
Lois Scola (solid on both ends, and fearless. Potential to be great)
Aaron Brooks (huge game-changing pg, can break down defense)

    Players that we SHOULD lose:

Steve Novak (will never be a solid player)
Luther Head (will never be a solid player)
Kirk Snyder (will never be a solid player)
Chuck Hayes (no team has good enough offense for him, especially us)
Mike James (no longer a solid player)

    Players that are questionable:

Bonzi Wells (we'll need an offensive player in return)
Rafer Alston (only if we get better pg in return, in package maybe)
Steve Francis (only if we get someone decent in return)
Tracy McGrady (only if we get great player more fit for this team)
