Ray Allen is a lock, but not first ballot - He has the all-time record for 3's in a season and numerous All-Star appearances.

McGrady is a lock, but like Allen, not 1st timer - Back to back scoring titles and many All-Star and All-NBA team appearances.

Grant Hill is a maybe - He made a valiant effort in his comeback in 2005 with Orlando making the All-Star game and putting up big numbers, but I'm not to sure on him.

Dirk is a lock, not first ballot either - One MVP gets you in someday.

Do you know if there are any MVPs that are eligible and still haven't gotten into the HOF?

No big deal, Shaq is in top 50 of all time.

Beter reconsider now who would get with top 50 of all time.

    Duncan?

    Garnett?

    Iverson?

    Bryant?

    McGrady?

Every single person you mentioned (with the possible exception of Mourning) should be a lock for the HOF. Let's start with Kobe. 3 rings. 82 points in a single game. He is the greatest scorer of our time and one of the best of all time. Jason Kidd led his team to the Finals three times and is undoubtedly one of the greatest point guards of all time. And Iverson? I can't believe you think he is doubtful. He lead the league in scoring how many times? He was an MVP. He led a pretty bad Sixers squad to the Finals. And he's one of those rare players who forced the NBA to change the rules. He's one of the all-time greats. KG is also a lock, and especially after this season. After this season he may well have another MVP trophy on the mantle, probably a trip to the finals under his belt and possibly even a ring. As for Deke, he should be in the hall too. He is #2 all-time in blocked shots. His all around numbers are respectable. Didn't he also win some defensive player of the year awards? He was at least first team on the all defensive squad four or five times. He's definitely top 10 best centers in the last 20 years. Mourning was a great player and should make the hall of fame, but I'm not sure if his career was long enough.

Do player's extracurricular activities count? Can anyone confirm or deny?

I think most everyone on the initial list is a lock...Deke is probable, Zo I don't think so. If their off-the-court activities count then they're both automatic locks too.

    As for this list:
Ray Allen - no (for now...if Celts put together 2+ championships we'll talk)
Tracy McGrady - borderline for now
    Grant Hill - no idea
    Dirk Nowitzki - lock

you don't wear a jersey in the the bball HOF like you do in the MLB hall correct?

meaning player's aren't tied to their teams?

if they were, i would be curious to see how deke goes in.

he spent equal time in denver, and atlanta... but clearly having the most enjoyable time of his career right now, as a rocket.

Shaq, Dunca, Kobe, Kidd, Garnett, Iverson, and Mutombo are locks at this point. Mutombo wasn't nearly as great as those other players, but when you were arguably the best defensive player of your generation, I think that puts you in

I think Nash and Nowitzki will eventually get in too.

Every single person on your list is a lock to make the HOF. Basketball HOF is easy.

People don't know how great Dominique was he just never got a ring. But I'll tell you this if he would have gotten 2 or 3 rings I thik he would have been in the top 5 to ever play the game.
