I dont know if 200 mil is a bit over-reach, but let me tell ya the craze about Rocket's game over there is just unbelieveable. Pick a radom guy around on the street and ask him about the game, you will see. NBA is THE sports to watch in China right now. It is nationaly televised, well publcized by the media, a lot of people will watch it for sure. What else better to do on a Sunday morning. Chinese dont go to church.

Yi got a little over 400,000 votes for the all star game, if you take out the people from Milwaukee with internet access or who can fill out a ballot, that's about 399,900 people who vote for Yi outside of Milwaukee. I don't think that 200 million number is close to accurate.

Bullsh!t. The Superbowl is the biggest event in the history of the world -- that's why it requires a bowl and not just a cup like soccer.

Well that 200 mil is based broadcast coverage. I dont think China has an accurate rating system like Nelson's here. But I will bet you there will be at least one to two million viewers of this game at each major cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou. There are about 10 such cities. double that number to account for rural China. 40 mil is the most conservative number for anybody interested in marketing. My estimation is probably between 80-100 million people.

Well, at least in this country. In a place like China, I would imagine that a lot more people are interested in basketball, especially if it features Yao and Yi, than American football. Sure the number seems high, but I imagine that it will be at least comparable to the Super Bowl.

It has sth. to do with the China national soccer team, it sucks, hopeless forever.

Thus people lost all the faith and shift their tension to basketball.

What a waste of their time.

Yao got pwned by Bogut and Yi couldn't throw it in the ocean.
