Just thought I'd bring this back. Thomas has improved his FT shooting from Shaquillian to Good for a big man. Much more decisive with ball. When he gets it down low, he puts it in. Points/FGA is a super 1.71. Cut turnovers in half. Catching the ball. Still a black hole, but as long as he keeps his P/FGA above 1.3 in the NBA it won't matter much. Shows little offensive awareness. Can't find open man. Doesn't have Owens' instinct for shotblocking, but not a slug there either. Rebounding potential is very high. Strong, so he can get position and can win most balls with attitude and leaping. His mean streak and the shrinking of the 5 may allow him to play center in the NBA. As far as Rockets go, may be an option at the backup 4 down the road if KT doesn't stay after his contracts up.
Thomas' chances of making it in the League all depend on his height. If he measures in at around 6'8''-6'9'' then I think that he would have a future as a defensive/rebounding bench player. Dm324, I really think that it is way too early to start making statements like the one you have. Royal Ivey, Brandon Mouton, Thomas, and Sydmill Harris are all sophomores and have 2 more years to develop. Ivey for sure looks like an NBA prospect ala Cuttino and Mouton has a lot of potential to be an effective 2 in the league (I think that he'll be what Maurice Evans was advertised as in conference play and next year).
I see no hope for Thomas to be anything but a journeyman. He could be Bo Outlaw, minus the dribbling and passing skills.
