the kid is the real deal.

if he was just being athletic (dunks, some rebounds) like earlier on in the season, then i would say he's a flash in the pan.

however, since being given a real chance he's showed a really nice touch from mid range witch will keep him in the rotation for a long time.

He is more explosive version of Paul Millsap with some range.

I think he's for real, but in order to be a great player he will always have to give 100%. I don't think he'll ever be the kind of guy that is really good when he takes plays off, but as long as he gives us the effort he does now, the future looks bright

That definitely is not true. At first I tried to go by that, but he looks small, clearly shorter than Scola, who is listed at 6'9 and used to be listed at 6'8. He isn't much taller than Bonzi who is 6'5" when they hugged the other day. I think his listed height 6'7" is about right.

That is the only problem with him. He is short for his position.

Not possible. Amare is so explosive and he has 3 more inches on Landry.

I don't know where you heard that or if you just made that up but it is blatantly wrong. I guy named Shaq is just one example and with just the 150 minute cut off I'm sure there are dozens over the last 20 years.

Did you hear it on radio, or TV or what?

I like Scola in all, but this guy is clearly better. His jumper is just money in the bank where as Scola shot is inconsistent and he is just a better run and jump athlete. Not as good as a athlete as Amare, Amare has freakish athletic skills. I think on this team he could be 16 points and 10 rebounds, with Mcgrady and Yao drawing all the attention. Really excited about our draft and our rookies.

Once again proof that the +/- stat matters as much as a condom to Shawn Kemp.

yea i think he'll be a good player in the league. but to all those ppl that think he'll be like amare: i don't think that's even possible. remember what a freak athlete amare was? even after the knee surgeries he's still way more expolsive than landry. sure landry dunks alot, and goes up strong, but i noticed that everytime he dunks, his hands are just above the rim. he never really gets that high up. I think at best, he'll turn out to be a carlos boozer type player. A quick, and very strong 4, who can finish well, and has a great shooting touch. Plus, landry's athletic ability is way more comparable to that of Boozer's. Amare's athletic ability or even that of a young c-webb's are way out of landry's league. the chance of Landry being like c-webb is probably more slim than that of amare, just mainly because c-webb was just a terrific passer, and we haven't really seen any part of landry's game that shows us that he can duplicate what c-webb did. But anyway, Landry is awesome, and he'll turn out to be a solid starter at the very least.

Heck, I just hope he ends up as good as David West. Right now he reminds me of a Malik Rose when he was in shape.

Landrover is the real deal. He's 6'8 1/2" in shoes so he's 6'9" by NBA measurements. He's also 248 lbs of solid muscle with a 36 inch vertical leap. Those who say he's short and can't get up haven't been watching him. When he wants to dunk hard, his head is up at around the rim. As far as comparing him with other players, Carolos Boozer is a good candidate. By the way, Boozer is an All-Star reserve.

Landry's PER is out of sight and he's still a raw rookie. So is he for real? His stats say he is. His upside is incredible and his athleticism and jumping ability for a big man mean's that the sky is the limit. If he can reach Boozer level, then someday I predict Landry will be an All-Star.

    Amazing 2nd Round Pick.

Landry and Scola were a combined 15 of 19 from the field for 34 points.

And a combined -14 in the plus/minus  Chuck Hayes +8

TELL ME if Chuck Hayes played the entire game the outcome would have been different with Rockets winning by double digits...

I'm not at all concerned with "future stardom" projections. If he could be between a Paul Millsap and a Chris Wilcox I'm happy with that.
