I think TMac lost concentration on the court. He got frustrated too easily tonight, when a foul was not called, when he lost his man on D after a screen. That happens occasionally to any player. He should get over this and stay focus on the court in the upcoming games.
His lack of mobility(obviously caused by his knee) appears to be frustrating him. If you look at his body language at the end of a defensive play where he was unable to get to where he wanted to be he looked down.(not down at the floor, but frustrated down) As to the likely reason this thread was created: T-Mac gave up 4 3 pointers in the 2nd half that I specifically recall(and the GameChat was livid): First was after an offensive rebound, his man stayed behind the 3 line while he went in to get the board. You could just see him say "oh sh**" in his head. Second and third were off screens he tried to go around and wasnt able to get there in time. Fourth was when he was right up in Granger's face and he hit it anyways. Those you just tip your cap to the other guy because his defense on that one was solid. Then for a second I thought Granger was Reggie Miller after he ran off about 3 picks and came open on a curl for a 15 foot J.
Amen. Amen. +1 for you But unfortunately, in this world of hatred and media bias, peope will constantly seek out the negativity of people. Whats even more annoying is that these TOFs/YOFs seriously need to polish on basic grammer nuances-like sentence structure, and commas,....and periods.....etc. Seriously, since you're a full-fledged member and all, maybe you can spearhead a new revolution against these n33bs and seek out a solution to wipe them out. Bring back the good old days-like a year ago
T-Mac's problem is that he got out there and he played hard for three minutes out of the entire game. It's just one game. But if he's still out of sync for the rest of this road trip that could be a sign of big problems to come.
I agree. he looked more frustrated than lazy. I think his injury is still bothering him. You could tell on several plays that his body was out of synch with what he was trying to do.
The correct spelling is grammar. And if my memory has not failed me, you are as much a TOF as anyone else is.
I think his knee bothers him some, but when he is shooting well it sure seems to bother him less. Honestly, I think it is a chemistry issue with Tmac, he is still trying to find out how he fits...and is struggling with it some. DD
The play that pissed me off the most was the supposed "eye poke". Upon viewing the replay, it looked like he got brushed on the cheek, yet that doesn't stop him from literally giving the ball to the other team and writhing around in pain on the ground. He might have sold the call if there wasn't a 3 second delay for him to grab his eye. And if I'm wrong, and he really did get poked in the eye, then just man up. There is no reason to lay down on the floor for an eye poke.
First of all, I don't understand why the coach let Tmac play an extended period for the game. His energy level, for injury or conditioning of whatever reasons, can't hold himeself for a long period of time. Disregarding all those TOF YOF nonsense, I think the fact is (from my observation), 1. Tmac is slow today. Hopefully he can improve his conditioning quickly in the following games. 2. Tmac is lazy in the first three quarters on defense. I saw quite a few times that he let his man open and just watch him to shoot. 3. Tmac has defensive talent, as evidenced by a couple of steals and sometimes his defensive performance in the crunch time. However, he MUST do it all across the game, and that is the point. 4. For the first time for the season, I think Tmac should consider the change of his role in this team- spend less energy on offense in the first three quarters; pay more attention to off-ball movement and defense; take over in the last five minutes. I don't want to see purely personal attacks on Tmac, but I don't want to see cover-ups either. A couple of brilliant plays on defense can't deny Tmac's overall poor efforts and performances on defense tonight and actually for an extended period of time.
The most obvious problem is with Alston. He comes up huge against the Warriors and next game he's 3 for 11 with 3 assists and 2 TO's. The starting lineup with Alston looked flat and lifeless. If the Rockets don't get this squared away there's going to be problems.
The guy did have 9 assists. And he didn't look lazy to me, just slowed down. He's clearly not 100%. I wish there would be some limit put on the hate threads and all. So sad that such a vocal minority can take over a BBS forum and drive the quality down.
who is T-Mac? No, this is his evil twin brother on the court! My T-Mac, please come back soon, otherwise......sigh
Well, Rafer is nothing if inconsistent. Maybe he was hyped to play BDavis but yawned at going against Deiner.
I agree. If we play a lineup of Brooks, Tmac, Battier, Landry, and Yao, then Tmac doesn't need to create as much or dominate the ball. That lineup has no offensive deficiencies. Have Brooks run wild and kick it out to shooters. Post up Yao and kick out. Let Tmac drive and dish. Landry to clean up the mess. Tmac could also just wait for the ball to come to him and nail wide open looks. We really just need everyone to attack, and make the right pass when the defense collapses. That's what the Suns do. Hell, even Bruce Bowen is capable of pumpfaking, driving in to collapse the D, and then kicking it out. Then, Tmac could spend more energy on D. We just don't need him to do everything on offense for us anymore.
Mac, I admit you played not well tonight, but believe you will prove they are wrong next game. Let's those haters shut up! Go!
