Gee Cat, do you suppose he sees the writing on the wall?

Jackson has two years left on his contract after this season, and he says that should do it.

"I don't want to coach into my 60s," the 56-year-old coach said. "That's a period where I'll feel like I'm pushing the edge of my career with the physical abuse as you drag through each year."

Jackson still faces back and hip surgery.

"Physically the last two years have been hard," he conceded. "I had knee surgery before last season, so it was my idea to come into this season in good shape physically and try to be strong enough to endure the season. But it all eats away at your adrenal system, the late hours, driving yourself, sleeping in different beds, going on short sleep, the playoffs six or seven weeks.

"I like the affirmation, the feeling I have when you are driven to succeed. But I understand you have to pay a little bit on the other side."

If he did, he'd be retiring now.

Anyway, this is great... if Shaq keeps his word of not playing for any other coach, I only have to put up with watching him for two more years.
