Trades with New Jersey to get Jason Kidd just don't pass the smell test. Some posters are putting Scola in the trade mix .... big mistake unless they surrender Sean Williams -- and that's still a real gamble. Kidd is just too close to the end of his career. Personally, I'd rather gamble on T-Mc. I might go for the T-Mc + Battier + James + Landry for Kidd + Jefferson + Sean Williams and their second round pick to settle our Utah second round debt (giving the Jazz the worse of the two).

Yeah, the Nets would finally be able to get four guys on the court at once.

    Oooooooooh, j/k.

Unfortunately, two of these guys can't get on the court to help us with that whole 10th seed conundrum we're stuck in.

Well since we're in a dreaming mode.. maybe we can have Kidd, Tmac, and Yao in the same team and then simultaneously the Rockets gets transfered to the Eastern Conf.

Apparently he does not know what he was talking about unless he meant we've got a bunch of PGs

Maybe 2 first round picks and luther head/or one of the other rookie would make New Jersey think about it for 1 second.

All three of them said the same thing too, and I argee with them. If we could somehow get Kidd without gving up T-Mac that would be a steal. Just think for a second T-Mac, Yao, and Kidd on the floor at the same time that would be sick. Tracy wouldn't have to be the playmaker anymore he could play off the ball and only have to worry about scoring that will be his job. Yao will get a lot of easy looks at the rim and more dunks.

DO NOT give Yao, Scola, Brooks, Landry. Everyone else can be traded for Kidd.

I wonder how many people here calling Kidd overrated actually watch the NBA.

    ARE YOU KIDDIN ME!?!?

This guy is far from overrated, he's 35 and he's still playing. Someone said he doesn't run a half-court offense. Kidd is a HOF player, plus the Nets are not the fast paced team of 00-05 any more. They are lucky to even get a fast break now.

He hasn't slowed down...look at his stats over the years...he has YET to slow down and nothing points to him breaking down. He's in good shape I can easily see another 4 seasons from Kidd. I mean the guy leads the lead in Triples Doubles, I've seen a few Nets game this year, he still plays the same.

Guys like him keep their body in shape. The Rockets should be trying what the Mavs are right now, trying to get a 3 way deal so they can land Kidd and keep Tmac. Besides it makes no sense for the Nets to get Tmac.

They are loaded at that position and I doubt they want to see how much effort a team could put in the regular season with Tmac and Carter on it.

    Successful Trade Scenario
    Congratulations on a successful trade.

Due to Houston, Indiana, and New Jersey being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston, Indiana, and New Jersey had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Kidd has way too big salary for this team, and is on the end of his carrer, plus by getting him team ruins chemistry that established.

kidd to houston? I would do it in a heart beat if we only going to trade any mixing of the following players

    -deke
    -hayes
    -head
    -synder
    -alston
    -MJ
    -SF
    -Novak
    -Wells

However the combination should, but we will not be trading these players away

    -Yao
-Tmac, Kidd would benefit both Yao and Tmac, without Tmac we would stay the same withjust Kidd and Yao.

    Scola, Landry, Battier, Brooks

its taken more than 10 years since the awful barkley trade when we gave up our youth, talent, and future for Barkley. granted Cassel and Horry had proven championship winners. I think any trade involving scola, landry, Brooks for a high salary player that is out in 2 years will set us back another 10 years.

i agree with above post. But if Barkley didn't mess up his knee do you think we could have won it all that year??

That being said, it would be foolish to give up our scoring PF's who open the floor up for Yao. Kidd is freaking awesome in his ability to affect the game, but he is not a scorer. And no matter how well he passes, he can't pass to a fronted double teamed Yao. And at this point in his career he isn't really a drive to the hoop hard and draw a foul or make a layup type of player nor was he ever a jump shooter.

Kidd would be a horrible fit in Houston. Kidd is not a half court player. He would be left all alone on the three point line all night long while his defender would be on Yao's Lap. The only guys on this team that would be able to play with Kidd are Landry, Scola , Brooks, and Snyder. The rest of the guys need someone who can drain the three and space the floor.

A better fit would be trading T-Mac, James. and whoever for Artest and Bibby

The 3 way trade with NJ/IND would be the freaking huge blockbuster trade, not happening, even though that would be sick.

Tmac + Yao + Kidd = full of win
