well if indiana still wants to move JO could be a 3 way deal between HOU/NJ/IND involving JO to NJ Kidd to Houston and a mix of players/picks to IND

would be nice to get Kidd and move players that arent getting PT like Snyder/James and some lower PT players

Scola has some value in a trade, and Landry is starting to show genuine promise, but I don't want to give him up in a combo even for a player like Kidd.
We can't offer the Nets enough in any kind of a deal anyway IMO.

... well, you've got to give up something to get something of value ... ;) ... and as much as I like the new guys, I'd trade any and all of them to win a championship.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Our team is on the right way right now. I don't want to trade scola, landry, brooks, head, alston or any players in the rotation.

By the way, our trade history shows we are not good at it.

    Don't do it.

Bad contract, old players, I'd like to see AB and landry play very hard ruther than Jason Kidd

That's actually not a bad idea. NJ gets the big man they need, we get the PG we need and Indiana can have a combination of young talent, veterans, salary dumps, draft picks whatever they need since they're in rebuild mode. Just make it work. Also we can either throw in Alston or Indy can throw in Tinsley to the Nets.

I don't understand the Jason Kidd fascination, he's the worst shooting PG in the NBA, less effective in a half-court system (which we are) and obviously wouldn't be the rebounder he is in NJ on our team considering we are one of the better rebounding teams in the league. His defense is vastly overrated and no real difference between that and Alston. Then factor in he makes over 40 million for the next two years, and we'd have to give near 6-8 players to get him, it'd just make our depth and spacing even worse.

I'd much rather go after a guy like Bibby. Even Cassell would be a good backup option, that can step in with leadership, toughness and ability to knock down clutch shots and most importantly shoot FT's at a high rate. He should be more easily attainable as well.

I'm not saying Kidd is a bad player, because he certainly effects the game more than his stats does (which is already a near triple double) but his inability to shoot and other obvious questions he has is just too much to give a half a team for.

was messing with the trade checker on realgm and espn with kidd and jo being the centerpieces. another thing i added recently was giving indiana magloire also so that they have a bigman in return. rockets would give up a mix of guards/expiring contracts which would include mike james, snyder, bonzi, and head or hayes to make the money match.

of course theres the requirement of throwing in draft picks in order for indiana to even consider if they wanted to fully rebuild after the JO era.

The most important thing Kidd can bring here is leadership which both yao and tmac cannot offer.

if leadership is so important, shaq would never win a ring. it's all about results and what u can do on teh court. shaq is as childish, immature, and bratty of an NBA player u will ever see. he never watches game tapes. he never practices. he gets fat. but yet he wins b/c he PERFORMS ON THE COURT.

but oh, leadership on this board is like some type of heavenly aura.

if jkidd's leadership is so ridiculously good, how come he can't have his NJ team with 3 very good perimeter players contend in the weak east?

oh, but at least he's not tmac. anybody but tmac is the bomb diggity

Too old and too expensive: just say no. There are much better options.

Shaq at least had D. Wade in Miami and Kobe in LA. And he may be a goofball off the court but no one can deny his drive to win on it.

yes people did when he kept losing in the playoffs, esp. when he went to LA and kept losing to the jazz ;) . until he won, he faced a lot of criticism for being so dominant and yet not win. when have we heard that before?

Other moves that would really help a team:

    Lebron at SF for Houston
    Kobe at SG for Phoenix
    Yao at C for Lakers

These moves will all happen on the same day that Kidd becomes a Rocket. I'm sure he would be a great addition to the squad but why the hell would a Professional NBA analyst even bring this up when it has zero chance of happening?

Everyone seems to forget the Lakers had plenty of leadership on the team outside of Shaq and Kobe. Phil Jackson > Adelman, they had Fisher, Van Exel, Eddie Jones before he was traded for Rice (who wasn't bad either).

All the Rockets have is Yao and a bunch of followers. The only close to a leader would be Alston. And that's pretty sad.

I mostly remember the media talking about how Hakeem beat him like a drum in the Finals. He beat him like an old rug, like a red headed step-child, like a...well, you get the idea.

Shaq isn't really comparable to you know who--Shaq went to the Finals fairly early in his career whereas T-Mac hasn't even been out of the first round yet. That right there is the difference in the "will to win" category.

Yeah, Genius, that's why Daryl Morey brought three frickin' point guards in the off-season.
