There are plenty of slow guys playing in the NBA for teams with Penetrating PGs...... It is all a matter of fit.....some players just need to get to the right type of team and coach. DD
Signed Dan Langhi Sorry DD, couldn't resist. To this day I STILL never understood that swap with Dallas, Langhi for Najera? Seemed to me that Najera would have been a better fit for the Rockets but, hey what do I know ... apparently more than the Rocket brass at that time.
I'd definitely pass on JJ. He's like a ghost out there. All the hype out of the college and nothing to show for it. At least he's doing A LOT better than Morrison.
I'd take Morrison every day and twice on Sundays over Redick. Morrison has an excuse. He's injured and out for the season. What's Redick's excuse besides being overrated.
Why not? Mike James has zero value, or maybe less than that. I don't want us to pay him 6 mils for the next two years..
I definetly want JJ! I've been telling all my friends that if head is getting the minutes he's getting than JJ would really thrive here!!
Reddick can shoot but thats about it. Just like Novak if he isnt shooting then he is worthless to the team. I like Reddick but he isnt what is going to put Houston over the hump. He would be good for 5 minutes a night just like Novak. The thing is you would have to put them on the floor seperately because of both of their poor defense. But they would fit in nicely when their is a scoring drought and could light it up for 5 minutes.
DD you've had a hard-on for Redick ever since he was available in the draft. 2 years worth of unworthy stats and performances and you still want the guy The guy is a tweener and doesn't have the athleticism to make up for it, he will get abused on D because he's not quick enough to keep up with 1's and to weak to guard 2's. Redick is Matt Maloney version 1.2
Redick can have a place in the league as a 7th-8th option rotation player. His ceiling isnt that high and anyone looking for even a 1/3 of his college production in the pros will be disappointed. I think he CAN get his shot off but Redick's problem, along with his lack of defense, is he's not the greatest of ballhandlers and doesnt have point guard skills. Steve Kerr and John Paxson had just enough handles, court vision and pg skills to remain on the court. Redick doesnt have that or the extra height that other players have, like Kapono, Szcerbiak, Fred Hoiberg, etc. Best case = Matt Carroll Worst case = Shawn Respert
You know that is what the Rockets are lacking in, someone to provide a spark, instant offense. Bonzi has not been that man thus far for the Rockets. So, if you continue putting Novak in the rotation and he gets us 8-12+ EXTRA points then, that makes defending the Rockets that much more difficult. If last game is any indication, Scola and Novak can be the difference makers in that defenses are forced to play the Rockets more honestly. Scola can knock down that intermediate jumper and Novak can swish some 3s that makes a world of difference! In retrospect and in lieu of injuries and recent projections that Reddick will not be the superstar he was at Duke, I think we made a better decision opting with Novak instead.
I am not sure their salary matches but I am fine if Mike is involved only to get JJ Redick and others. But if he averaging 8 min PT and he is not happy at Magic, he is probably going get less PT over here. So if he is unhappy about PT then he will be unhappy here.
