He's awesome. I've noticed that whenever Eddie is in the game, the Rockets just flat out play better, period.
It is so exciting to have this guy on the team. Steve and Eddie are going to be an unstoppable combo for years.
You know, I am still in shock for how we got this guy out of the draft. Unbelievable!! As much as you may diss Rudy and CD, I will love them till the end. Eddie, Steve and Cuttino will rip it up for sure. How old is Eddie again? DAMN!
I don't think you need to start loosing too much sleep over it just yet since we have for two and a half more years before he can leave if he decides he wants to.
Let's see................ 27 minutes............. 25 points................. 8 Rebounds................ 5 Blocks................... Player of the game.................. Is this guy married.................... I think I'm in love.....................
Eddie could have had over 30 points tonight easily. He was fluid, he really had it going. This kid, I just don't know what to say anymore. He's my favorite Rocket with Steve being a very close second. I just love this kid's game. Just think how good he's going to be when he really comes of age. I love his poise, he's not out there going crazy over a made shot or dunk, he just goes about his business. I agree with Calvin on the after game interview, this just demoralizes the opponent when the guy who is kicking your ass isn't even breaking a sweat. GO EG!!!!
Was I the only one laughing hysterically at Eddie in that post game interview? MAN that guy is so stoic, and then he tries his hardest not to laugh at all. Like when Calvin told him to quit bein modest, he just bust out laughin, but then a second later he was back in control. I love the guy, but his facial expressions are soooo amazing. Hes alwayz in a " hey whats going on?" kinda mode. well i guess its a good detraction from our guards...
Monster numbers in just 27 min. MONSTER NUMBERS!!! Is there any more arguments whether this guy should bump Williams, Rice, or just about anybody at the forward position (I still love K.T.) My word! I saw this guy have games like this before he came to the Rockets. He is just going to get better. He is likely going to gain weight (very likely) and may grow inches in height. He does not have K.G.'s fire, but he may end up having his skills. Yes!
... only a matter of time before he gives Moochie a shiner for not getting him the ball. Cheap shot, I know. But after observing his on-court demeanor this year, does anybody wonder the exact circumstances surrounding those stories about Griff fighting in high school and of course the Seton Hall incident? Does the kid have a hot temper beneath the surface? Or has he just matured? Whatever the case, Griffin is plain fun to watch. His stoicism may make it difficult for the NBA to market him, but he'll be a star for a long time.
Great game from the young fellow. This kid flat-out amazes me.We should save the Eddie,Eddie chant for next year , and start chanting R.O.Y,R.O.Y
I think he does have K.G.'s fire, he just doesn't show it near as much. The way he goes up for rebounds and blocks at times during the game really show that he has a lot of determination.
And I felt so good when they interviewed him afterward. He talked about improving his dribbling so he can drive thru the lanes. If he can do that, then he'll be unstoppable!!!
I get so damn excited warching this fella. Even more excited knowing I'll turn 21 before this guy hits 20. Can you imagine? Can you imagine!!! You may call me overtly optomistic, you may call me obtuse, but I sleep better at night thinking of the team in a few years.
EG just leaves me speechless. I love this guy. I love his game! The tradition of Rockets big men continues!!! Keep kicking ass, Eddie, and you WILL be R.O.Y.!!!!! EDDIE!!!EDDIE!!!!!
Eddie's play has been awesome!! His maturity for a 19 year old is fantastic...the guy appears to be all business and is already talking about his training plans for the offseason. What you have here is a coach's dream...a guy with talent who is willing to work to improve his game. I recently posted a thread asking whether or not you LIKE this current crop of players (beyond the fact that you love them simply because they're Rockets)....EG is the kinda player that is VERY easy for me, personally, to root for....mostly for his commitment to improving. sports mean the most to me when they become about something more than the game...like taking inspiration from a guy who desires to be the best in his field. that seems rare in today's NBA...but we just may have that in EG, and that excites me!
He's the calming influece this team needs. I don't see how anyone can possibly say this guy shouldn't be starting.
