The imbalance between the Eastern and Western Conferences is pretty incredible.

At 25-20, the Rockets would be in a virtual tie for 4th place in the East.

Instead, they are in 10th place in the West fighting for their playoff lives.

Huge win. Adelman's adjustments putting shooters in with Yao to free him up was great. The backcourt had a great, great game. I was encouraged that they kept their heads up and won the game after giving up the lead. Yao was MVP-like tonight.

yeah bro . . indeed he does, but how can he if he doesn't GET the ball from his teammates?! It only happens so rarely ='/ . . he is freakin money ball, I can't stop saying it . . also, novak is the only white player on the team . . could that be a reason why he doesn't get that many shot oppurtunities, because of player/team issues? . . I dunno, I really hope nothing is going wrong in the locker room and during practice. Novak is a clutch shooter, I know I may be bragging, but I gotta give this boy credit for shooting the ball, WELL.

It may sound like I am praising him too much, but I have been watching the rockets, ALMOST every single game for the past 11 years if I am right, so I am not stupid and I know my basketball. I just think Novak isn't getting the fair deal he should be getting as an unselfish player as he is! :(

It looked to me like nerves. The Rockets stopped moving without the ball. They just stood around and watched Rafer dribble.

In the past T-Mac has sometimes been able to bail them out by putting the offense on his back. This time it was Yao. Not only was he getting the ball deep but he also made his move immediately. The results, instead of TO's, were 7 straight points and 9 out of the Rockets' last 11.

How about channel the TALENT to the good way? Our team could become a real Champion competitor, if that is possible

It took chcuk hayes 3 months of this season to find his right place on the team.

Didn't read through the whole thread so I don't know if it was mentioned. But it seems like Head was a bit overlooked in the win.

Nice job to Head racking up 20 points, 6 assists. Our second leading scorer, and he made his jump shots count opening the floor up for everyone else.

Before the game when I read an article said Yao said he found the weakness of the GS I thought it was the usual "it's on me" kind of talk. Shame on me!

I think he actually recognized that the Rockets were frozen and consciously decided that he was going to put the team on his back, like T-Mac sometimes does. I don't think that's happened in previous games.

ok my bad. i said in the other thread, i heard colin cowherd the other day saying how losing shockey was a good thing for the giants, despite all the talent he brings to the team. getting rid of his dominating presence in the huddle, always being in eli's ear to get him the ball, freed eli to relax, step up and assume more of a leadership role.

the same dynamic could be at work here with t-mac. the question is, what players could we get for t-mac that would instead have a positive effect on the role players?

You are correct. Probably the best game I've seen Head play as a Rocket. He looked a lot more versatile than his normal self and was nailing those mid-range jump shots, an area of weakness for this team.

Maybe not so much this season but it's happened in the past.

Do you remember that Wizards game last season when T-Mac was out. Yao owned the 4th quarter.

Yep, thanks to the accident to give Yao more time for breathing. I do not agree Ref's standing on our side. See the great defense play by Yao which was blew up by ref  The cluth time's fts, I would give more credit to the ball movement and Head's penetration to the right position for Yao. Also Nelson's choice to rest hot guy and change player to trap Yao is really not a wise move, it almost direct tell Ref that "we suck in defending monster Yao, we could do nothing expect foul on him again and again" :p

I guarantee that Yao's excellent performance in the 4th quarter without turnovers was because of the mascot. Yao had lots of time to rest and get his energy back.
