I appreciate the attempt, but its way too big, and less likely than most other scenerios, but I'll give you a C+ for working the math.

Greg Anthony just did a bit on the Rockets on ESPN....

Summary: He thinks we're not going to make the playoffs if we stand pat. That trading for Kidd would make us a much better team that could ultimately make the playoffs. That our current group struggles to get Yao the ball when in scoring position and that Kidd could not only improve our passing in that area, but also make us a better rebounding team.

Also, he mentioned that Kidd's presence takes a ton of pressure off of T-Mac.

Just heard that... I think he's talking out of his butt since he didn't go into logistics of a possible trade (gee, imagine that, talking out of one's butt on trade thoughts, :p ).

The Nets could trade us Kidd for a super-duper combo of Alston, James, Wells, Hayes, and Snyder but they'd have to cut most of those guys (Snyder and Wells are in the last years of their contracts) and we'd be hard pressed to pay three max or near-max players and field a full team (11 guys - see below). Also, I don't know how this changes our LT number.

    Battier/Novak
    Scola/Landry
    Yao/Mutombo
    McGrady/Head
    Kidd/Brooks/Francis

We need a PG that is a SHOOTER. I'll take Jason Terry, a bit streaky, but a huge upgrade over Rafer.

Look at Kidd stats the last 12 years he been in the NBA, and tell me one year where he wasn't doing too well.
