If he can't beat out Rafer Alston, he is done.

If Steve played Rafers 40 min a game and Rafer had played a few min here and there like Steve we would be 5-7 games under 500.

Steve Francis is not a winner

If we can somehow manage to upgarde our PG, many issues will be solved. We could become an elite team immediately.

I concur...and it may be as simple as letting Brooks start.

Brooks can't deliver immediately. There will be a learning curve which will impede our push towards the playoffs. Of course, the cost/benefit of this isn't our decision.

Watching that clip from the Suns game which was Franchise's best game this year it was obvious to me when he penetrated and went to the basket, that he had no lift. He sort of walked the ball around a lot at the top of the key and when he fell down he was slow getting up waiting for a teammate to pick him up. When Worrell yelled, "oh Steve Francis with an old Stevie Franchise shot", he fell down and I watched him gingerly get up. He didn't just bounce up and run the other way. I don't know what' it's going to take, but his legs aren't there anymore. I don't know if therapy or surgery will fix it or if Francis's career will go down like Bob Sura's.

He still has wicked handles and has eyes in the back of his head. If he can just stay healthy and stay on the court, he could help us as a reserve. I don't know if he can play 40 mpg anymore.

I kind of agree. PG takes time to develop. Don't give up Franchise too easily, help him to recover. Another thought, we may have a chance to get a qualified PG from east?

Give us a freaking update on the Franchise. First they get all of us hyped about his return (at least I did when i saw the news) and now nobody's even keeping us updated.

I posted it in the Feigan Blog. He says Francis is back to practice but will not play. Since he is not playing, it makes sense to get him as well as possible.

He's practicing with the team since Jan 15th. He's not 100 percent with his knees yet so I don't know what kind of intensity he's practicing at.

I am and will always be a big Francis fan, but Francis is not the answer and neither is Rafer for that matter. I'm ready to give Stevie another try, if he's healthy. He did play pretty well in the few minutes he got this year, and yes he probably got beat out by the other guards, but he does comes up big(see the Suns game) in big games, unlike Rafer. IMO the Rockets are fighting for a playoff spot so it's gonna be hard to shake up the line up to drastically, but some changes do need to be made at the PG spot. Personally, I'd be more comfortable going down with Francis in the line up rather than Rafer. As for Stevie's movement when he did play, it didn't seem to be there, the elevation wasn't there and his side to side movement wasn't there. The one thing that was there was his heart! As for the "We Want Steve" chants, count me in. All in all, at least Chuck Hayes minutes have continued to go down.

    What is Francis' condition?

Past his prime. Not the answer for our problems.

Old Stevie Franchise would not have gotten that foul or used his arm to push off to get the rest of the way to the basket.

Wow if you think knee tendinitis is a career-threatening problem.
