Gundy would freak out if he has 3 rookies in the final qtr of a game that means so much to the season. Mutumbo, Hayes, and Alston instead, I guess.

hella turnovers werent apart of gundy ball. plus we're a lot deeper team this year than another of tha gundy teams we've had. and we dont depend on tha three ball as much as those gundy squads

Van Gundy Ball is still the way to go in the playoffs. Defense wins championships. Here is a few evidences:
1.) Spurs won the championship last year
2.) PhX and Dallas did not win any championships. ever.
3.) Boston Celtics and NOH have the best records with stellar defense and good offense.
4.) Van Gundy went to the finals before. Yao and Tmac didnt.

hell I don't care how they do it.. the last few champs have played good defense and could clamp down when it mattered. With the choices of matchup problems RA could lay on the opposing team makes it a lot easier this year than JVG had last year. Someones cold? pull his ass. plenty of choices even without Stevie and MJ.

Something else to note, Only two players took more than 10 shots this game. That is a balanced attack. 8 players scored 8 points or more. Balanced offense.

We're back to almost strictly pick and rolls on offense...What happened to that motion offense we were running early in the month?

Better put Hayes back in or Boozer is going to kill us.

If we were playing Gundyball, it would have been T-Mac, Deke, Hayes, Battier, and Alston with all of those guys playing nearly 40 min each.

Just like last year against the Jazz in the playoffs.

To be fair, he won 3 of 7, and the last one, down the stretch, was just really crappy execution by the players.

Yes, we played Gundy ball tonight. All pick and rolls, all jumpshots. And it was NOT just a T-Mac thing...when he wasn't touching the ball or on the bench it was either Rafer taking the pick and roll or Brooks.

Get T-mac in position to take good midrange shots, have more than just Rafer and T-Mac handling the ball, and get some more ball movement and off ball cutting from everyone.

    WTF are you smoking?

We lost to Utah with a healthy Yao in game 7 last year.

No way we win this game with JVG as a coach...

We would have given ourselves a better chance to win with a better defensive unit playing in the 4th quarter. Who knows what JVG would have done.

Novak gave us a great lift with those 10 points, but we were playing with fire keeping him in the game throughout the 4th quarter. You can't give up 37 points in the fourth quarter and expect to win.

We saw what JVG did for a number of years...first round exits. Who cares what the outcome of this regular season game would be.

Not saying Adelman is better. It seems to me he has installed all of 1 play the entire season, and it doesn't work that well.

BUT, can we please stop talking about Gundy ball? If it looks like Gundy ball half the time (and it does, especially tonight, regardless of who got PT), and Gundy isn't still here, it obviously isn't Gundy ball. Second, Van Gundy took us to the playoffs. He couldn't get us over that hump. That was proven. Let's move on.

How quickly you guys forget how we blew out Utah when they played us this time last year, WITHOUT Yao. And guess what, Mutombo did play something like 40 minutes and Hayes played like 35. We didn't even have Scola to save us, or Brooks, Snyder, Bonzi, or Landry.
