Hubie Brown's erroneous commentary gets on my freakin' nerves... a couple of comments about the Rockets' players during the Rookie Challenge : Cuttino Mobley plays both the off-guard and small forward positions. Ummm... Rudy, your problems are solved. Steve Francis is a great defender. Uh, yeah. Hubie, do me a favor, do your homework and then brush your wooden teeth. You can afford dental work... you know it and I know it. Anybody see that behind the back pass Jason Williams made off his elbow? Good God, from the front, I thought that ball reversed directions on its own. Jason Williams is the best ballhandler in the NBA since Magic and Zeke. He is unREAL. Francis also had that behind-the-back dribble where he reverses direction and fakes his guy out of his shoes. He followed that by passing the ball to Odom for a tomahawk dunk. Of course Steve also had that dunk on the pass to himself and several dunks and reverses on breakaways. Mobley probably got a lot of heads to turn his way with his comment on national TV that he has the best first step in the NBA. Francis should've won the MVP, too!! (okay, so I'm biased) Man, I love All-Star weekend... I love this game. ------------------ trade them all and fire the coach.
man I love this format.....I hope there is some talk in keeping it. JASON WILLIAMS...man that was unreal, I know thats the way he plays, but he makes it worth the dollar to go to these games...Mobley had some nice lob's....cant wait till the Slam Dunk comp.---I hope Francis has something up his sleeve for Vince.
Shotcaller I came on to post about keeping this format too, rookies against sophmores rules. Francis could have easily dominated this game.It was obvious to those who have watched him all year that he was holding something in reserve for later.
that was a fun game to watch! a good showing by the Rockets... Cat does have one of the best first steps in game, I don't know about THE best though. it was cool though when shut up Odom when he scored on him. francis was very impressive. he did some showboating, but really never got out of control. he played good enough to get MVP, but Brand deserved it more. he had a monster game!
Cuttino Mobley is way overestimating how good his first step is. He doesn't have the best, nor one of the best first steps in the NBA.
Francis tied the record for assist in the rookie game.Does anyone know who he is tied with ? Just curious.
That Cuttino Mobley comment was too funny! The Cat is quick, but doesn't even crack the Top-10, IMHO.
Francis and Williams were the crowd favorite because they were the most flashy guys on the court. Did you see when they announced Elton Brand as MVP, you could here the crowd booing a little. One question why was Andre " I JACK UP 3's" Miller getting booed?
because miller didnt dunk on that breakaway.Ever since that moment every time he touched the ball they booed..Cause he aint flashy.
DARockets, the other guys who had 11 assists were Damon Stoudamire (1996) and...Khalid Reeves (1995).
I don't remember him feeding himself off the backboard... there was one where he lobbed the ball in the air and he caught it off the bounce and dunked it. ------------------ trade them all and fire the coach.
He might be referring to the intentional missed free throw by Lamar Odom, where Steve broke down the lane and dunked it while everyone sat and watched in awe. To bad it was disallowed
