Yesterday I got caught by a speed trap in Robeline, Louisiana. The officer asked me about my record, and when I told him I hadn't had a ticket in several years, he wrote a note to not put the ticket on my record. It was just a note on the bottom of the ticket. How will this work? If I just pay this ticket, will it not go on my record? Or was the guy just making empty promises so that I will pay it, and not try to get out of it some other way? If he's right and it doesn't go on my record, I'll just pay the ticket. Otherwise, I'd probably take defensive driving or something to get it removed.
