Since it looks like wre not gonna get a legit #2, it would be nice to put together a super bullpen like when we had Lide, Dotel, then Wagner. There are still plenty of good set up/hold giys available. That's the only way i can see us competing. That way when we have a lead womever is starting only needs to go 5 or 6 innings depending on the situation. Plus, since we already have a closer, we could sign some real good bullpen arms for the price of a quality #2 pitcher and they would only be used when neccessary. It's definantly thinking outside the box, but i could see it being a trend in the future with starting pitching costs sky rocketing every year. Wheras 2-3 million should get you a stopper.
