I like waffle fries, especially the ones from Chik-fil-a. Kind of surprised to see those in second place in the poll. Very surprised to see curly leading.

Why no "All of the above"? I'm ashamed to admit that french fries (possibly fried potatoes in general) are my favorite food. Probably one of the worst foods ever invented but my favorite non the less....

I think Chick fil a fries are disgusting. It takes a lot of ketchup and mayo mix for me to put them away.

I second Frenchy's fries. They're oily and seasoned.

I'm kind of surprised there's no poutine fans here.
But pfft. I said waffle. Fry dishes is obvious; cardiac fries > regular fries any day of the week. But with all those other choices, I had to go waffle.

Curly seasoned are the highest evolutionary form of freedumb fries known to us.

Where they just cut the potato (skin on) and deep fry them. The only restaurant in my area that does it is Steak Escape.

Ah-hah. Then my choice would be "fresh-cut steak fries".

I voted "other." My favorite was made at the Ranger Drive-in, in Southeast Houston near Gulfgate. They were called "dip-fries." (awesome chicken fried steak sandwiches, by the way. when I spent months in India, back in the 1960's, I had vivid dreams of the Ranger's dip-fries and chicken fried steak sandwiches.) Dipped in a very lite batter, the only thing close to them that I've found are the fries at Hyde Park Grill, here in Austin. Check them out... you won't be disappointed.

Second best would be the fries at any little hole in the wall in the Netherlands. Fantastic. If you don't like their version of mayo (much different than ours), which is their favorite dipping sauce, you can get ketchup.

Steak fries are the best followed closely by seasoned curly fries.

I voted for shoestring because the greatest fries in the world are at a little place called Dairy Barn in Sulphur, LA. They are shoestring fries that come out so greasy that I blot them on a paper towel before eating them. But they are just incredible. Their onion rings are nearly as good.

That being said, I generally like waffle fries and curly fries better than regular because they are normally better seasoned.

Cheese fries (combination of cheddar and mozzarella cheese) with Tony's seasoning on them with ranch on the side for dipping is my favorite. Used to get these all the time at Player's in Austin right by campus. Now I generally try and stay away from fries in general.

I don't care what cut they are, as long as they're seasoned. They can be shoestring, steak, curly, wedge, whatever. Just season them for me, and I'll be just fine
