I seems to be correct. not everyone on this board.. Clutch, Jeff, DaDakota, Fisher, pgabriel, weslinger, those guys are better Rocket fans.

Hakeem did bless me as a kid and I'm carrying the torch for clutchcity, those who helped this organization become what it is. Charles Barkley was part of that, his white wife, his asians fans, his mexican fans, his indian fans, his fans all over the world. we all know he's not racist.

As much as I was a Charles Barkley fan, especially when he was Houston, he NEVER KNOWS WHEN TO SHUT HIS MOUTH, and that is one of this time. While Camby is unquestionably a far superior player to Kwame Brown, he IS NOT ANYWHERE CLOSE to YAO's PHENOMENAL GREATNESS. Yao is THE BEST CENTER IN THIS LEAGUE, whereas Camby is lucky if we mention him at NUMBER #10.

The fans voted Yao in and therefore he CAN AND WILL START!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it were all about what some of us fans wanted, Steve nash and T-Mac should easily start over Gangster-son and Kobe. In fact, iverson should give up his starting spot for T-Mac. I'm SERIOUS!!!!

 

You double and triple team the bigger threat. What would you rather have your opponent do....shoot a 3 or get a dunk? I'm sure that theres a greater chance of Shaq making a dunk or a 1-ft shot than any of the other guys making a three.

Actually, I expect that a lot of people could beat yao 1 on 1. Yao is just too slow to be placed in 1 on 1 scenarios. But in reality, shaq is one of the few people yao probably could beat since shaq's game has declined a lot and he has gotten much slower.

 

Barkley needs to get a clue. How many GMs would prefer Camby over Yao?

The player a GM prefers probably depends on the structure of his team. I'm pretty sure that the GMs for phoenix, denver, and golden state would want camby.

I'm shocked at how ignorant everyone here is. Barkley made a statement that was a debatable one. But instead of debating it, it seems like everyone here calls him a racist.

Isnt bill russell considered one of the greatest players ever? isnt camby providing the same kind of support for his team that russell gave his? its not that farfetched to think that camby deserves the starting spot.

everyone knows yao is going to start. have any of you considered that barkley just wants to give camby some publicity and well-deserved recognition? how many fans of the nba know what he brings to the nuggets? if the clutchfans fanbase here is indicative of the fanbase of other teams, very few people appreciate camby. when you hear the word "nuggets", you probably only think of anthony and iverson.

 

Okay, 10% of the GMs would prefer Yao over Camby....

if a team HAD to replace its current starting center with yao or camby, i can make an argument in favor of camby for the following teams:

Golden State
Phoenix
Denver
Boston
Detroit
Dallas
Toronto
Utah

thats a shade over 25%

 

even if you have a more fast paced type of offense you still want a force like Yao down low over Camby.............teams who make deep runs in the playoffs are teams that can score in the half court....Yao gives you a better chance of doing this.............

 

if you have a faster offense, yao would get tired quicker. thus, his presence would be negated. yes, a half court game is important. thats why my selections included utah and toronto. they have franchise power forwards. they would probably rather have a quick, agile, defensive center as opposed to yao.

 

I still don't see anyone taking Camby over Yao.......

I'm basing my opinion on their style of play as well as their current starting center and power forward.

 

Btw, if i could prove it, it would be a fact...not an opinion. In which case there would be no room for debate.
